Il y a des photos dont on a rêvées mais qu'on n'a jamais pu faire.
Je ne rêvais pas d'une lumière incroyable au lac des Chésérys, juste d'un reflet.
Après une journée à se reposer sur les bords du lac Blanc juste au dessus, nous avions décidé de redescendre au niveau des Chésérys 140m en contrebas pour le coucher du soleil.
Le vent soufflait et balayait le lac empêchant tout reflet de se former.
5 min avant que les derniers rayons du soleil aient fini de rougir les aiguilles, le vent stoppa d'un seul coup et les reflets apparurent.
À peine le temps d'appeler mes 2 compères Philippe et Nicolas que le moment était déjà presque terminé.
Un reflet presque parfait, des aiguilles rougies, un ciel pas de "chaos" mais bien sympa quand même ... magique !
Un moment dont je me rappellerai longtemps et la soirée photos ne faisait que commencer !
Encore une fois l'image est un panorama effectué avec le 50mm f1.8 de Nikon, la focale la moins cher du marché et pourtant les détails sont hallucinants en zoomant énormément sur le PC.
Un tirage de 5m x 2m passerait sans problème !

When exploring as a photographer you never quite know what you are going to get. There are days when nothing turns up, but then a scenery like this one comes and across and makes everything worth it. Road near lake Pearson while coming from Arthur's Pass. The lake is not very big, but the scenery is astounding.

No hay nada seguro a la hora de explorar la naturaleza para capturar su belleza. Hay días que no encuentras ningún encuadre que valga la pena, pero entonces hay otros como el día que me encontré este escenario y de repente todo el esfuerzo se ve recompensado. Este es un camino cerca del lago Pearson viniendo desde Arthur's Pass, Nueva Zelanda. El lago no es muy grande, pero el paisaje es asombroso.

The Afsluitdijk is a 32 kilometres long dam between North-Holland and Friesland. When it was closed in 1932 it turned the former Zuiderzee, a salt water inlet of the North Sea, into a fresh water lake now called the IJsselmeer [seen here left of the dam, while on the right is the Wadden Sea]. The visionary mastermind behind the Afsluitdijk was Cornelis Lely [see statue]. He was more than just an engineer, he was also a minister, governor and politician, a true Dutch polymath. The Afsluitdijk was Professor Lely's magnum opus.

This particular image is special to me as I've shot it with a slightly unorthodox reason behind it.
Unsolicited I have proposed our Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management to build 'Mount Lely' on this site as a tribute to this great Dutchman. A mountain / dune / watch tower containing a museum of art and information, with the professor's statue 'on top'. The idea was to include the ability to cycle [and walk] over the mountain so we could create our own Mt Ventoux [of Tour de France fame]. I wrote an extensive report containing the pros and cons [ok, especially pros] about the architecture, art, economics, sustainability and such. Unfortunately I've had no reaction whatsoever to my submission. That should teach me to spend this much time and effort into a crazy idea.

Hoy he tenido que postponer un viaje a Tailandia debido al covid, era en noviembre y las fronteras están cerradas hasta mínimo primer trimestre de 2021. Uno más en lo que va de año, para los que nos dedicamos a los viajes fotográficos esta siendo un año infernal.
Sin embargo no me puedo quejar, tengo a gente a mi alrededor que por unas u otras razones lo está pasando fatal, y hoy una de ellas me ha hecho emocionarme, y quería dedicarle esta foto y decirle, que lugares como este la esperan, y que todo volverá a su cauce.

Today I had to postpone a trip to Thailand due to the covid, it was in November and the borders are closed until at least the first quarter of 2021. One more so far this year, for those of us who dedicate ourselves to photographic trips this has been a year infernal.
However, I cannot complain, I have people around me who for one reason or another are having a terrible time, and today one of them has made me emotional, and I wanted to dedicate this photo to her and tell her that places like this await her, and that everything will return to its course.

Tempête en mer d'iroise
Ce sont des monstres qui déferlaient aujourd'hui sur la mer d'iroise comme ici au phare de la Jument à Ouessant.
Pour la première fois de ma vie, je m'envolais en hélicoptère pour profiter du paysage et rapporter des images que j'espérais spectaculaires.
Et il faut le dire on a été gâtés ! Des vagues de plus de 13m s'écrasaient sur chaque phare avec une violence impressionnante !
