Completed 6 November 1962, the SA-5 flight booster (S-I-5) is transferred from the main assembly building (bldg 4705), Marshall Space Flight Center, for pre-static [test/fire] checkout.

The orangish cylindrical spheres that festoon the booster's ‘spider beam' are 'fuel pressurization spheres'. Excellent information pertaining to them at:

The M-923 is the cargo variant of the M-939 5-Ton series truck.

Marine Corps five-ton trucks provide transportation, hauling and towing of just about everything in the equipment inventory. These trucks transport troops, supplies, ammunition, materials, construction items, etc. These trucks also tow many types of trailers, artillery guns and vans. Almost all Marine Corps units are equipped with five-ton trucks. The primary truck transport asset of the Marine Corps, it is available in cargo, dump, tractor and wrecker configurations.

The M923 dropside cargo truck is designed to transport personnel and supplies over all types of roads and terrain, and in all weather conditions. It is capable of fording thirty inches without the fording kit and seventy-eight inches with the fording kit. The vehicle's cargo bed is equipped with hinged steel sides that fold down for ease of loading and unloading operations.

The only difference between the M923 and the M925 is the M925 has a front mounted winch. The capacity of the winch on the M925 is 20,000 pounds. The maximum payload for the vehicle is 20,000 pounds highway and 10,000 pounds cross-country. The maximum towed load for the vehicles is 30,000 pounds highway and 15,000 pounds cross country.

The new 12th & Imperial Transfer Station (now Transit Center) was completed for the new Euclid Line in 1986. It replaced the standard station design that had opened with the Trolley in 1981. The new Transfer Station included a bus plaza for transfering to and from buses.

Above this station, the Metropolitan Transit Development Board's new headquarters building would be built a few years later.
