The AMC AMX is a two-seat GT-style muscle car produced by American Motors Corporation from 1968 through 1970. As one of just two American-built two-seaters, the AMX was in direct competition with the 2.5 cm longer wheelbase Chevrolet Corvette, for substantially less money. It was based on the new-for-1968 Javelin, but with a shorter wheelbase and deletion of the rear seat. In addition, the AMX's rear quarter windows remained fixed, making it a coupé, while the Javelin was a true two-door hardtop.

Fitted with the standard high-compression 4.8 l or optional 5.6 l or 6.4 l AMC V8 engine, the AMX offered sporty performance at an affordable price. Despite this value and enthusiastic initial reception by automotive media and enthusiasts, sales never thrived. However, the automaker's larger objectives to refocus AMC's image on performance and to bring younger customers into its dealer showrooms were achieved. After three model years, the two-seat version was discontinued.

The AMX's signature badging was transferred to a high-performance version of its four-seat sibling, the Javelin, from the 1971 to 1974 model years. American Motors capitalized on the respected reputation of the original two-seat AMXs by reviving the model designation for performance-equipped coupé versions of the compact Hornet in 1977, Concord in 1978, and the subcompact Spirit in 1979 and 1980.

The USAF KC-10 Extender, designated as the McDonnell Douglas KC-10A Extender, was a vital advanced tanker and cargo aircraft operated by Air Mobility Command (AMC). It played a crucial role in providing increased global mobility for U.S. armed forces, particularly through its aerial refueling capabilities and cargo transport capabilities. (Ai generated)

Super quick shots of my part in the display at this weekends AMC Expo. I'm calling this series "Versus", you can probably guess why, and the next planned installment will be Darth and Luke.

But first i need to get better shots of them.

Very interesting is the "Auto Becker" sticker. Auto Becker was a dealer in Düsseldorf who imported all the exclusive car brands to Germany like Facel Vega, Iso Rivolta, Volvo, Monteverdi, Rolls Royce, Bentley, Jaguar, AC Cobra, Aston Martin, Panther, Ferrari,... I didn´t know they where also selling AMC.

Every time I do an AMC, I check to see if it has an "American" color option, because they usually do. This one is my favorite livery so far. Check out the red, white, and blue stripes in the grill! That's awesome. So is the hood tach that's built into the hood scoop. It's pure silly excess and I love it.

I've been pushing myself a bit with my builds lately, and this one isn't as complex as a lot of recent stuff I've tackled, but I still had to come up with a new technique or two to pull it off. It's a great feeling when it all comes together.

Welcome to the Utah Alphabet Yard Project! The goal of the project was to find a car that corresponds with every letter of the alphabet. I shot this back in April of 2012 and never really did anything with it. I shared A & B, but then life took over and it got placed on the back burner. It is now time to change that.

A little more info on this project; everything was shot in one night, to say it was a long night would be an understatement. I started the planning phase during the day, by combing the yard for all the cars I was going to shoot, then marked their location and description in Google Maps, so I could easily find each car in the sprawling 63-acre yard once the sun went down. As is all my night work, every picture is created with a single image composition. The images were shot on an old Canon 30D with a Tokina 12mm-24mm lens. Constant lighting provided by the moon and supplemental lighting created with a flashlight and colored gels. These are not Photoshop creations. I apply no editing that cannot be replicated in a darkroom. For the car to qualify for the associated letter, the make, model, or trim needed to start with said letter. Some creative freedom was also applied.

I have a soft spot for the AMC Pacer. This one was gorgeous!
