Ι spotted them three days ago during a mountain biking ride. Went back the next day to ''shoot'' them with my ''workhorse''. They were kind enough to offer me some unique moments.

I was surprised to see the Gannets displaying mating behavior so late in the season. I asked at the information center and they said that was normal. They mate for life, separating when their chick leaves the nest after about 13-14 weeks and rejoin again the following year. Taken at Cape St. Mary's Ecological Reserve, Newfoundland.

View Large On Black This species thrives on the edge of the forest, as the dark forest lacks the underbrush and grasslands that the deer prefers as food, and completely open areas lack the hiding spots and the cover it prefers for harsh weather. One of the plants that Black tailed deer browse is Western poison oak, in spite of this plant's content of toxins.[2] This deer often is most active at dawn and dusk, and is frequently involved in collisions with automobiles. This pair of gannets were so pleased to see each other displaying so much affection whilst preening and pointing their beaks in the air.

These critically endangered white-backed vultures are a joy to be able to observe/photograph in any situation since there’s no telling how much longer they’ll still be around in the wild. In this specific shot, the birds are somehow managing to look affectionate and very intimidating all at the same time.

Chandrabhaga beach on the coast of Konark becoming India's first to get the Blue Flag certification — a tag given to environment-friendly clean beaches, equipped with amenities of international standards for tourists. Recently another beach has also got this tag( Golden beach) I will post photos of it in future
Formerly, the waters of Chandrabhaga beach flowed inside the Sun Temple falling on the wheel, dance hall and smaller shrines. The beach was then moved by 2 km from Konark Temple. The beach is usually a spot for picnics and tourists visit it after offering prayers at the Sun Temple. The Chandrabhaga fair is held annually to honor Lord Surya. During this festival, the beach comes to life with religious events happening in the beach, Jatra or Orissa Folk Theatre and vendors selling food and toys. One can reach here from Puri Railway Station and the best time to visit this place is from October to May.
I remember there is another legend associated with the beach, which says… Sambha son of lord Krishna was once cursed of leprosy by none other than his father ! Sambha was very handsome and krishna felt his 16000 wives were getting more fond of Sambha than him ! Broken hearted ,Sambha was roaming in Chandrabhaga river,they say….He prayed to sun god ,with full devotion and was cured of his leprosy !!

Black and white, shot with a Nikon D40 and a Nikkor AFS DX 18-200mm F/3.5-5.6G lens. Off-camera lighting via a ceiling-bounced SB-600 flashgun fired via a Yongnuo radio trigger, and processed in GIMP and Photoscape.
