I helped fellow Autoshiter Baz collect this Renault from Derbyshire in 2007, and obviously the car to do it in was my Accord of similar vintage (echoing the trip to get his 11 in my Accord 3dr).

Day 9. Today was hard, not because the photo of the day was hard (though I had a hard time finding inspiration), but because the day was emotionally hard. It kinda sucks when you fight with the people you love. You’re supposed to make each other happy, not angry, or sad. When the distance between people is so large and schedules don’t match, it is easy for misunderstandings to come up. Misunderstandings can escalate until you end up saying not-so-kind things to them. Or just blaming them for whatever the problem is. I never thought it would hit me so hard. I thought I had come up with countermeasures, ways of doing things differently so distance wasn’t so hard for us to cope with. It is quite obviously not working, and, well, that sucks. We’ll probably be okay. Still, I spent a crappy night, woke up angry and sad. Woke up late, too, so I’m just now publishing. Today’s probably gonna be a better day, though. Luckily for me “woke up angry and sad” is nothing that a nice cup of coffee can’t fix in the morning :)

Today’s setup was quite simple. I used a Neweer VK 750-II at 1/64th power at 60cm away from the subject, at a 45º angle, camera right. That’s all

Nepal - Gedanken (9)

The animated film 9 (Shane Acker, 2009) is situated in a world destroyed in a war between man and machine. The film was produced by Tim Burton, Russian director Timur Bekmambetov, Jim Lemley, and Dana Ginsburg.

A hand-stitched doll with the number 9 written on its back (and with the voice of Elijah Wood) comes to life. The world he has awakened in is frightening, but #9 quickly learns that he is not alone and that there are others like him, also with a single digit written on their back. The first one he encounters is #2 who tells him something of what happened to the world. 2 is also thrilled with the disk 9 is carrying, one with three unique symbols on the front. They meet also #1 through #8, including the domineering war veteran #1 (voice of Christopher Plummer), aging inventor #2 (voice of Martin Landau), stout mechanic #5 (voice of John C. Reilly), visionary artist #6 (voice of Crispin Glover), and fearless warrior #7 (voice of Jennifer Connelly). They find themselves in a battle against a Transformer-like red-eyed monster called the Beast in which #9 shows unique leadership skills. The nine will prove capable of salvaging what still remains of this world, and laying the groundwork for a hopeful future

Wikipedia describes 9 as "a 2009 computer-animated post-apocalyptic action film". The film is based on the short film Shane Acker, then a student at UCLA, made in 2005. His film. also titled 9 was nominated for a 2006 Oscar. So Acker was permitted to make his feature directorial debut with an expanded version of his ground-breaking post-apocalyptic fable. 9 (Shane Acker, 2009) was the second animated feature film to be released by Focus Features. The first was Coraline (Henry Selick, 2009) based on the book by Neil Gaiman. The first images of 9 (Shane Acker, 2009) are spellbinding. In close-up, thick fingers make the final stitches in a roughly humanoid little rag doll, and binocular eyes are added. This creature comes to life, walks on tottering legs, and ventures fearfully into the devastation of a bombed-out cityscape. 9 (2009) received generally mixed reviews. The general sentiment by critics was that the film is "long on imaginative design but less substantial in narrative." Roger Ebert gave the film in the Chicago Sun-Times 3 out of 4 stars: "9 is nevertheless worth seeing. It might have been an opportunity for the sort of challenging speculation sci-fi is best at, however, and the best reason to see it is simply because of the creativity of its visuals. They're entrancing." Variety's Todd McCarthy wrote: "In the end, the picture's impact derives mostly from its design and assured execution." 9 earned $48.4 million on a $30 million budget.

I must have seen about 200 photographers out on 9/11 photographing the tribute lights. I know most people try to keep other photographers out of their photos but for some reason I love to include them. I think it adds a neat element....... I was waiting for the day someone would spot themselves on my stream and say hey that's me!... Sure enough, last month it happened..... Say hi to Michelle in NY

This is such a great way to make friends.... Don't you think?

This was shot just as the sun started going down, so the tribute lights are hard to see.

The portal at Skomakargatan 9 is from the 17th century when it was still mainly shoemakers and tailors who had their activities along the street. The owner of No. 9 was in the 1650s tailor Jonas Jönsson who lived there with his wife Karin Joensdotter and their children, as well as their children and apprentices.

The portal at Skomakargatan 9 has been preserved despite recent renovations. What is missing, is a fence with a large ring hanging in to the left over the portal. That is written on an older sketch of the house but is gone today.

In the map above the portal there is engraved "IISM" and "KIDG" and between them a sign. The sign is a badge used by people who could not write their names but wrote under documents through their so-called housemark. Therefore, we know that the tailor Jonas Jönsson was unable to write. The letters IISM are tailors Jonas Jönsson's initials and the letters KIDG are his wife, Karin Joensdotter, initials.

My daily visitor.

Yes, I photographed a wedding at 9 months pregnant (36.5 weeks)! Here's a cute picture my husband grabbed of me holding all my gear as we headed over to do family portraits after the couple's ceremony. Yes, I am a trooper!!!
