RAMESH JS . Rest In Peace.

He was a bird enthusiast.

He was a nature lover.

He lost his life in an elephant chase.

Wish his family all the strength.

I got to know about this incident through a friend of mine.

RAMESH JS was on WORDPRESS . GOOGLE+ . TIMES OF INDIA .

PS:

The camera was placed on the ground.

Step 3: Upload. Hopefully never under such circumstances. RIP.

I was in Washington, DC the past few days visiting family. While at my sister's local dog park, this rather randy (and intact) bulldog named Nigel showed up. He pretty much was willing to mount anything, and tried.

PLEASE , do not comment with GROUP INVITATIONS or GLITTER IMAGES !

After Heliconia was invaded, several of its border cities which were important industrial centres were lost. Heliconian High Command comissioned several new planes to respond to this threat, one of which was the Viper. Designed to be made quickly, by hand, with materials readily available, the frame was a monocoque construction with wooden composite covering, making it both light and strong. Vipers would be scrambled to defend Heliconian airspace and prevent further incursions into their country. In this repect they were a great success, their speed and powerful weaponry making short work of any enemy fighters and bombers they encountered.

Well, in the midst of a busy day, I have an unexpected spare half hour, so I thought I'd upload this; taken after a big brunch I prepared for Lisa and I's parents, who have all been staying with us since the day before Christmas and are leaving tonight. These were beautiful irridescent soap bubbles in our kitchen sink as I was filling it up with hot water for the dishes that wouldn't fit into the dishwasher!

Hope you are all having a wonderful new year so far, my dear flickr friends, and I promise to catch up on all your amazing new images over the next few days, since the Holidays, sadly, will be over!

I took this picture inside the crater of the Ijen komplex. I spent nearly the whole night in this unreal and beautiful place to shoot timelapse sequences for my new short. Luckily I had some good company, my camera and sweets with me.

Mont Blanc (French) or Monte Bianco (Italian), meaning "White Mountain", is the highest mountain in the Alps, Western Europe and the European Union. It rises 4,810.45 m (15,782 ft)[2] above sea level and is ranked 11th in the world in topographic prominence. It is also sometimes known as La Dame blanche (French for "the White Lady") or Il Bianco (Italian for "the White One").

The mountain lies between the regions of Aosta Valley, Italy, and Haute-Savoie, France and the location of the summit is on the watershed line between the valleys of Ferret and Veny in Italy and the Arve Valley in France.

The two most famous towns near Mont Blanc are Courmayeur in Aosta Valley, Italy, and Chamonix in Haute-Savoie, France—the site of the first Winter Olympics. A cable car ascends and crosses the mountain from Courmayeur to Chamonix.

Begun in 1957 and completed in 1965, the 11.6 km (7¼ mi) Mont Blanc Tunnel runs beneath the mountain between these two countries and is one of the major trans-Alpine transport routes.

The Mont Blanc massif is popular for mountaineering, hiking, skiing and snowboarding.

The summit of Mont Blanc is a thick, perennial ice and snow dome whose thickness varies, so no exact and permanent summit elevation can be determined. But accurate measurements have been made. For a long time its official elevation was 4,807 m (15,771 ft). Then in 2002, the IGN and expert surveyors, with the aid of GPS technology, measured it to be 4,810.40 m (15,782 ft 2 in).

Courmayeur is an Italian town and comune in the autonomous region of Aosta Valley, in northern Italy. It is located at the foot of Mont Blanc, the highest mountain in western Europe, in the Graian Alps range, and is crossed by the Dora Baltea. Courmayeur shares the summit of Mont Blanc with its neighboring commune of Chamonix in France, and owns the title of highest commune in Italy.

Ilusión, Navidad, pon tus sueños a volar.

The Grossglockner High Alpine Road is a panoramic road in Austria. The most famous route through the Alps ends just before the jewel in the Hohe Tauern national park's crown: the highest mountain and the largest glacier in Austria, the Großglockner 3.798 m and its glacier, the Pasterze. You will have a driving and nature experience of a special kind on 48 kilometres of high alpine road with 36 bends, and an altitude ascent to 2,504 metres! You pass through a unique world of mountains with blossoming alpine meadows, fragrant mountain forests, massive cliffs and eternal ice to the foot of the Grossglockner, the Kaiser-Franz-Josefs-Höhe. The route is described in the brochure as a Bikers Heaven. The Großglockner Hochalpenstraße Road was built between 1930 and 1935, to fight unemployment and boost tourism in Salzburg. It is in within the Nationalpark Hohe Tauern. Closed in winter until end of October to beginning of May.

The Mooserboden is a valley basin, which was formed by the Glacier Pasterze. The basin collects the meltwater of the glacier Pasterze. Eventually the water will pass through the main Alpine ridge to the Möll river eventually into the Danube - Donau river.

I had an amazing time exploring the California coast last weekend. Happy Holidays!

The Ponte Pietra (Italian for "Stone Bridge"), once known as the Pons Marmoreus, is a Roman arch bridge crossing the Adige River in Verona, Italy. The bridge was completed in 100 BC, and the Via Postumia from Genua to the Brenner Pass passed over it.

It originally flanked another Roman bridge, the Pons Postumius; both structures provided the city (on the right bank) with access to the Roman theatre on the east bank. The arch nearest to the right bank of the Adige was rebuilt in 1298 by Alberto I della Scala. Four arches of the bridge were blown up by retreating German troops in World War II, but rebuilt in 1957 with original materials.

At least one member of the Martin family at Ross House, Co. Galway posing in a wonderful motor car, that was housed in the stables when not in use.

It has been suggested that the lady may be the novelist Violet Martin (of Somerville & Ross, and The Irish R.M. fame), but Violet was born in 1862 so would have been relatively young when this photo was taken. What do you think? Maybe it's just the veil that seems to be ageing her... Personally, I think the woman in this photo probably taken on the same day is far more likely to be Violet Martin.

pamela_weaver suggests below that "...given the clothing and the rather elderly appearance - I'd suggest it's Martin's mother, Anna Selina Fox (1827-1906). Wrote my PhD thesis on them a long time ago, it's nice to see them again."

Bob Montgomery 2012 has identified the gentleman for us as Colonel C.P. Dawson. This is an entry from the 1907 Motorist's Year Book:

"DAWSON, Colonel C. P., Ross, County Galway. Cars: Leon Bollée, Clément, Panhard, Wolseley. Hobby: Mechanics. Introduced the first car into Connemara in 1897. Clubs: Naval and Military, Automobile Club of Great Britain and Ireland."

Received great information about the "contraption" - either a Turrell-Bollée Voiturette or a Coventry Motette! See below for some painstaking and forensic argument! Special thanks to Gerry Ward, els dekempe and Bob Montgomery 2012.
