If you arrange a beauty contest among the destination of Bangladesh, Shusong Durgapur of Birishiri will surely get the prize of the most photogenic natural look of all. Its scenic beauty is very unique. The main attraction of Birishiri is the ceramic hill of Durgapur and the picturesque landscape along the Shomeshwari River. Except the rainy season it’s hard to find any water in the river and that’s why the river changes its landscape color with the seasons. There is also an ethnic museum at Birishiri. It’s a must place to visit while you are in Birishiri.

Btw, I delete comments with *huge* banners and reference to people's own pix. So now you know. Ta! :-)
About this shot
I was deffo in two minds about uploading (one of) the ultimate cliche shot(s) of Westminster Bridge and The Palace of Westminster, also known as the Houses of Parliament or Westminster Palace (whatever) you know - hehe. *blush* But I walked past the London Eye and couldn't help myself looking back over my left shoulder... I had to take the shot anyway! It was a perfect job for my Nikon 50mm f/1.4 from that angle, and oh boy that piece of glass is *SO* sharp it scares me (see 100% crop below).
Hope you like it - at least the sharpness of it all - althought it's been done to death a thousand times. I'll come up with some more original shots soon enough! ... oh wait, I've got a couple of other cliches waiting down the line as well, hehe. I'll try and make it an interesting mixture then! ;-)
See ya!

THE STORY BEHIND:
This Ponte del Diavolo is one of some dozen ‘devil's bridges' found primarily in Europe, most of which date back to medieval times.
It is a remarkable example of medieval engineering and it is thought to have been commissioned by the Countess Matilda di Canossa of Tuscany around 1080-1100.
The unusual architecture of this medieval bridge with its asymmetric arches is called ‘a donkey's back', but it is known as the Ponte del Diavolo because of a popular legend that tells the story of a clever and respected master builder who lived in a village on the banks of the River Serchio. The villagers asked him to build a bridge to connect their village with the one across the river. He set to work immediately, but he soon realised that the construction was not progressing as quickly as he had promised. Being a man of honour and wanting to keep his word, he became very unhappy and quite desperate. He continued working very hard, day and night, to finish the task within the time agreed upon in the contract, but the work proceeded very slowly. The days flew by.
One evening, while the master builder was sitting alone on the banks of the Serchio, looking at the work that was still to be done and thinking of the shame he would suffer for not having completed it on time, the devil appeared to him in the form of a respectable businessman. He approached the master builder and said he could finish the bridge in a single night-if the builder would promise him the soul of the first one who crossed the bridge when it was completed. The builder accepted the proposal.
The following day, the village had its beautiful bridge that can still be seen today near Borgo a Mozzano. The townspeople were astonished and delighted. When they went to congratulate the builder, he ordered them not to cross the bridge before sunset. Then, worried about his deal with the devil, he set off on his horse for Lucca to ask the bishop (who became Saint Frediano), for advice. This saintly man told him not to worry: he should let a pig cross the bridge first. That is just what the builder did. The devil, furious at having been tricked, threw himself into the waters of the Serchio and has not been seen in that area since.

I wasn't overly happy with the white balance and the way the city kind of looks "Smudgy" in this shot.. I tried so many different settings but as I am still learning so much I honestly think it was because of the lens I was using. So when I get the time I'll return here with another lens to try it out. Other then that, I liked the rainbow reflections. :)
March & even into April is going to be a VERY busy few weeks for me so I'm trying to keep up as much as possible. My daughter and I are going to be apart of a wedding party in two weeks so I'm looking forward to seeing my little princess dressed up as a flower girl! I'll be sure to get lots of pictures then haha!

Minarets – Ediza Lake – Ansel Adams Wilderness
This is a scene I captured in 2009. Back then I processed a three-shot HDR version, which after recently reviewing, I decided that I was not happy with the final image. Back then, I had very minimal Photoshop skills, and I thought HDR would be the best way to process the shot.
As I have now developed a workflow using Adobe Raw, I decided to re-process this single image. Final tweaks were still performed in Photoshop.
A 6.5 mile hike is required to access this Sierra Wilderness gem. The destination makes the hard work worth it, as you arrive at Ediza Lake, idyllically nestled below Mt. Ritter, Mt. Banner and The Minarets.

It looks like I still have space on my photographic trip through the Highlands of Scotland in October, drop me a line to angusclyne@hotmail.com if you are interested...
Part 2
I decided I wanted to do a series about this. I have more photos from yesterday that are probably better, with nicer emotion. but honestly I don't feel like faking emotions right now. My surroundings are beautiful, but I cannot see it. Many people say the place I live is so nice, but try to stay here more than 10 years and its not so nice anymore. I wish I could go anywhere I want, but I have school I need to finish here before I can go. I feel good, and not good at the same time. and now I am done with complaining!
what if this storm ends
and I don't see you
as you are now ever again?...
but now it's found us
like I have a found you
I don't wanna run,

Ok, I saved the best my favorite for last. (I actually have a few others, but won’t post for awhile, if at all.)
After I came up with the idea to do a 12-photo panorama using my new 80-200mm lens, it was already fully night. This was the result. While I was happy with the frames (it wouldn’t be until I went home days later I actually edited/merged the photos into a panorama), I knew I wanted to return and try the same while there was still some light in the sky to illuminate the buildings. This 6-photo image [6c1r] was shot two days later. Each frame was exposed 2.5sec.
I hope you can look past the watermarks – I know they’re annoying – but I wanted to share this larger than the 1024px version I normally do. This “original” size is only 40% of its actual size. Please have a look. There aren’t many photos I’m proud of, but I liked the way this came out.

Itaguaçu is a neighborhood of the Brazilian city of Florianopolis, the state capital of Santa Catarina. It is situated in the mainland portion of the city to the south, between the neighborhoods of Coconut Well and Shelter Bay and South Itaguaçu The name is of Tupi origin and literally means "Big Stones Nursery" or "place where there are Big Rocks". These stones are interesting granite formations on the beach Itaguassu and amid the sea of the South Bay, there is even a legend that tells of witches who have been petrified, giving rise to the stones, one of which seems to have a hat, and also 6 is a set of stones that form a kind of a circle with a seventh stone in the middle (an allusion to Satanic ritual)

It feels good to be finally posting on Flickr after a long gap. I have been busy, unwell and lazy all at the same time and therefore haven't had the time to spend time here.
This is a long exposure shot from my last year's trip to Goa, here in India. A friend of mine did a great job of playing statue for me for about 10 seconds to get a near perfect image. You can still see the blur in the cigarette but I still like the overall look and feel of this image.
I hope to catchup with all your streams today. Have a wonderful week, everyone!

This high oblique panorama shows Morocco and Spain as photographed by the Expedition 30 crew members aboard the International Space Station. The Atlantic Ocean, Straits of Gibraltar and Alboran Sea (the westernmost portion of the Mediterranean Sea) separate Spain on the right from Morocco on the left. Algeciras Harbor is the prominent notch cut out of the eastern end of the north shore of the Strait. A Russian spacecraft, docked to the orbital outpost, is in the upper left corner.

Update ... just heard from my dear friend Maria (many thanks Maria) that this cloud formation is very rare and called "Fallstreak hole". I searched for it Wikipedia:
A fallstreak hole, also known as a hole punch cloud, punch hole cloud, skypunch, canal cloud or cloud hole, is a large circular gap that can appear in cirrocumulus or altocumulus clouds. Such holes are formed when the water temperature in the clouds is below freezing but the water has not frozen yet due to the lack of ice nucleation particles. When a portion of the water does start to freeze it will set off a domino effect, due to the Bergeron process, causing the water vapor around it to freeze and fall to the earth as well. This leaves a large, often circular, hole in the cloud.
It is believed that a disruption in the stability of the cloud layer, such as that caused by a passing jet, may induce the domino process of evaporation which creates the hole. Such clouds are not unique to any one geographic area and have been photographed from many places.
Because of their rarity and unusual appearance, as well as very little exposure in media, fallstreak holes are often mistaken for or attributed to unidentified flying objects
