Hemsedal is a municipality in the county of Buskerud, Norway. Hemsedal is the second largest ski resort in Norway and has the largest number of millionaires per capita. The Norse form of the name was Hemsudalr. The first element is the genitive case of a rivername Hemsa (now Hemsil), the last element is dalr m 'valley, dale'.

Photo taken from our bungalow with a magnificient view on the Hydnefossen waterfall. Paragliding is a popular sport in Norway. In ridge soaring, pilots fly along the length of a ridge feature in the landscape, relying on the lift provided by the air which is forced up as it passes over the ridge.

Disney's California Adventure park reflected in the lake. Didn't have a tripod with me so I set my camera up on one of the bridge buttresses.

This is on South Congress just across from the trendy area where everyone likes to sit outside and wait for Sunday Brunch for an hour.

ah, atualizei!

we're locked down in some serious weather today in petoskey. still, i took a walk down to the petoskey waterfront to get some "storm story" pics. at times, due to the blowing snow, it was hard to even see the petoskey D9 beacon, at other times (like in this pic), it cleared up nicely.

update - just in case you're curious, yes, i realize how many times i used the word "petoskey" in this description. i'm in a fierce duel with Odalaigh for supremacy in petoskey picture relevancy.

Living by faith sometimes means walking in the dark, but it never means living without a LIGHT.

Oceanos são feitos de gotas D água...

Para ser ouvido, fale.

Para ser compreendido,

exponha claramente as suas idéias sem jamais

abrir mão daquelas que julga fundamentais

apenas para que os outros o aceitem.

Acima de tudo,

busque o prazer antes do sucesso,

a auto-realização antes do dinheiro,

pensando grande e fazendo pequeno,

think of all the coloring in you could do with these bad boys!

Way up near the top of the canyon there's a broad meadow. This area clearly gets more moisture than the rest of the canyon, there are grasses and trees. There's also a tremendous view across the Tularosa Basin. That's White Sands National Monument in the distance.

My best capture of snow, but really my preferred!! 2 tracks, one friend, warped sun, white everywhere!! I love this shot, I think I'm going to enlarge it and frame it on my house wall!!

Horsetail Falls in the Columbia River Gorge during the recent cold snap. This gorge always transforms in the most amazing ways during such weather and I was afraid we were going to miss the opportunity this year as it takes about three good days of sub-30 degree weather to pull this off. Lo and behold things froze up last week, probably for the only time until next Winter. It also corresponded quite nicely with my one day off that week, so in spite of the dozen other things I needed to get done, we drove out to the Gorge for a few hours to bask in the icy wonderland. I had just received a pair of Yaktrax for Christmas, so with those strapped on these icy rocks were much easier to navigate.

...but I believe in it...

From Concepcion hill, exactly from Brighton Café, you get this sight of one of thousand beautiful corners of Valparaiso: Aníbal Pinto Square.

Declared typical protection zone in 1976, its first name was Order Square and it has suffered only a few modifications in 100 years.

In the center,it stands Neptune fountain, installed in 1892 represents this God of the Waters leading two dragoons, throwing water from their mouths. From this square it is possible getting to Concepcion and Alegre hills.

The cartouche of Ramses II (1290-1224 B.C.) (left one) - throne name - Usermaatre Setepenre ("The Justice of Re is Powerful, Chosen of Re"). The cartouche has noteworthy celestial overtones - it symbolized that the king was the 'Ruler of Everything Encircled by the Sun.'

The cartouche of Ramses II (right one) - birth name - Ramses Meryamun ("Re Has Fashioned Him, Beloved of Amun")

SAIL TO THE MOON - Radiohead

I sucked the moon

I spoke too soon

And how much did it cost?

I was dropped from moonbeams

And sailed on shooting stars

Maybe you'll

Be president

But know right from wrong

Or in the flood

You'll build an Ark

And sail us to the moon

Sail us to the moon

Sail to the moon

**************

NAVEGANDO HASTA LA LUNA - Radiohead

Succioné la luna

Hablé demasiado pronto

¿Y cuanto me costó?

Me arrojaron desde los rayos de luna.

Y navegué

sobre estrellas fugaces.

Tal vez llegues a presidente

Pero diferencia

lo correcto de lo erróneo

o en la inundación

construirás un Arca

Y nos llevarás navegando hasta la luna

nos llevarás navegando hasta la luna

nos llevarás navegando hasta la luna

nos llevarás navegando hasta la luna.

"The oldest living city in the world".

This is another picture taken this morning at sunrise near Sankathi Ghat along river Ganga in Varanasi (Benaras).

It belongs to the series of a new topic about wrestlers in Varanasi which I am showing here with no PP work for a change.

This is Vinod who is also trained by a Russian coach, he has also a little "shop" down the ghat where the gym is standing where he is selling pan, thea, water and sweets.

The gym where we did those pictures is facing river Ganga which gave this vivid colors so early in the morning.

Pehlwan means wrestler in Hindi.

The Nescio Bridge connects Amsterdam with IJburg via Diemen.

The bridge was opened on the 9th of April to make a better connection with Amsterdam Central Station, Amsterdam suburb Watergraafsmeer and IJburg.

It is the largest bike-pedestrian bridge in the Netherlands and is 780 meters or 2560 ft.

I live just 25 meters from the bridge and you can look inside my room when you’re standing on the bridge.
