The dunes were formed from sand deposits of the Rio Grande and its tributaries, flowing through the San Luis Valley. Over the ages, westerly winds picked up sand particles from the river flood plain. As the wind lost power before crossing the Sangre de Cristo Range, the sand was deposited on the east edge of the valley. This process continues, and the dunes are slowly growing. The wind changes the shape of the dunes daily.
There are several streams flowing on the perimeter of the dunes. The streams erode the edge of the dune field, and sand is carried downstream. The water disappears into the ground, depositing sand on the surface. Winds pick up the deposits of sand, and blow them up onto the dune field once again.
Digging a few inches into the dunes even at their peaks reveals wet sand. If the streams were to dry up, the dunes would disappear; in fact part of the motivation of turning the Monument into a National Park was the extra protection of the water, which Colorado's cities and agriculture covet. -Wikipedia

Nel '54 fui ospite di una famiglia di contadini al Testaccio di Barano d'Ischia, ero con un amico, lontano parente dei contadini ed ebbi una ospitalità indimenticabile.
Quì la figlia scalza prepara un caffè per gli ospiti.
Ho trovato molto spesso persone a piedi nudi nelle mie vecchie foto. allora doveva essere molto naturale, oggi stupisce !

The ship that you see in the background is a hostel named Af Chapman. It's a very nice place to stay at if you want to stay in the center of Stockholm, and don't want to spend too much money on once of the fancy hotels. The shot was taken during my photo walk with Johan Lindström.

Taken while standing in the middle of the vastness that is the West-Vigne Glacier (altitude 5000 meters plus) and looking North. That was the British expedition making its way South towards Ali Camp and Gondogoro La.
Broadpeak - called so for it's 1.5 kilometer wide summit - was initially labeled K3. It is the 4th highest peak in Pakistan and the 12th highest in the world. Yup, we got some serious mountains over here.

Erice - The Cathedral Church ,
From Porta Trapani, one of the entrance to the city, it gets to via Vito Carvini and so to the Cathedral Church.
In front of it, an imposing bell-tower rises with two orders of gothic mullioned windows and it is crowned by merlons.
It supposes that the bell-tower originary has been built as a vedetta tower by Federico from Aragon in 1312 and only later it has been used as a bell-tower.

As depicted in the 1989 film, Ariel is the youngest of King Triton's seven daughters (being 16-years-old). She is shown as being adventurous and curious about the world of humans, a fascination which angers her father as merfolk are forbidden from making contact with the human world. Her best friend in the film is a fish named Flounder, and she develops a close relationship with a crab named Sebastian.
Ariel salvages human items and keeps them in a secret grotto as part of her collection.
Over the course of the film Ariel saves the life of and falls in love with a human prince named Eric. She visits the sea witch, Ursula, to trade her voice for legs for three days in order to get a chance to win Eric's heart, not realising that this agreement is part of Ursula's bigger plan to trap Ariel's father, King Triton.
Ariel almost manages to win the agreement by getting the "kiss of true love", but is stopped by Ursula's underhanded tactics. When the three day limit has passed, Ariel returns to mermaid form and is claimed by Ursula. King Triton trades himself for Ariel, enabling Ursula to claim the trident. In the battle that follows, Eric destroys Ursula. When the film ends, Ariel is transformed into a human permanently by King Triton's trident, and marries Prince Eric

La segunda causa principal, son los automóviles, emiten casi 1,500 millones de toneladas de CO2 al año.
Sí. Aunque las temperaturas locales fluctúan de manera natural, en los últimos 50 años los registros demuestran que la temperatura mundial promedio ha aumentado al ritmo más rápido de la historia. Además, los expertos piensan que esta tendencia se está acelerando: los tres años más calurosos que se han registrado ocurrieron a partir de 1998. Los científicos dicen que si no se revierten las emisiones que causan el calentamiento global, a finales del siglo las temperaturas promedio podrían aumentar de 3 a 9 grados.

Playa El Tunco exclusivamente para practicar el surfing, muchos europeos y estadounidenses han quedado fascinados por las olas salvadoreñas, catalogadas entre las mejores del mundo para surfear.
La playa El Tunco, famosa por su gigantesco peñasco que antaño tenía la forma de porcino.
El Sunzal se divide en una segunda playas que lleva el nombre de la formación rocosa que todos llaman El Tunco. Dada la cantidad de personas que visitan esta playa es aquí donde se vienen organizando fiestas playeras o batucadas en las que se vive la música frente el mar hasta altas horas de la madrugada.

Luna (Moon in English) is a beautiful and elegant cat that I can see sometimes when I visit to my parents. She doesnt have an owner and she like to chase after pidgeons. Although it is just a game (because some neighbors give her some food every day) I always think she is a little hunter.

My personal favorite shot of the whole trip is this one, only because the sky at sunset had this beautiful orange glow as we drove through rows upon rows of Green Tea shrubs growing on the high plains of Shizuoka prefecture.
Pulled the camping car along side the road to get this 5xp freehand HDR shot taken in the afternoon on the second day of our 4-day camping car weekend.

Yesterdays sunset show many were talking about....here around Brisbane.
Hours before I observed these lines in the sky and was hoping it would hold on to that for a few more hours. I was pretty excited to get out for this shot and on the way home I knew I got a few special shots. This was the 3rd spectacular sunset in the last few days here in sunny QLD
My Tripot was knee deep in the water and I got Richard VERY close to my lens. Good on ya Richard!
