This radio was first made in Japan with production later transferred to Hong Kong. The earliest newspaper ad I could find for the Zephyr ZR-930 was in the December 18, 1959 edition of the Munster, Indiana Times newspaper in a Hall's Television Service store ad. The radio was priced at $39.95.
This radio is marked Hong Kong on the inside back cover label and lists the model as ZR-930. It also has a kick stand. The bottom of the outside back cover has "Japan" imprinted on it, but this was covered over with black paint.
There is a later version of this radio which was also made in Hong Kong as model ZR-930T. There is no kick stand on this model although the back cover was originally designed for one.

This drawing took me a couple days. I used 6B, 5B, 2B, HB, and 3H pencils, an eraser pencil, and some Qtips on just an ordinary sketchpad. The Porsche 911, specifically the 930, is one of my favorite cars so I really wanted to make a realistic drawing of one.
Nice Porsche 930 Turbo Targa spotted today, I love its shapes and for me is one of the best Porsche ever made.
Lothian 930 is the latest of the Longstone allocation to be repainted. After spotting this vehicle in town I decided to head out to Dalkeith to photograph it on its return. After about 30 minutes, Lothian 930 arrives at Dalkeith whilst working a service 33 to Baberton via RIE - Cameron Toll - City - Gorgie. 02nd September 2013.
