Seen at the 'Classics under the Antlers' car show at the Buena Park Elks Lodge in April, 2021.
The engine is a straight 8. Buick’s engines were already overhead valve types whereas many other brands were still using flathead designs.
It’s a shame that Buick today no longer offers any sedan, coupe or convertible. Now all their offerings are crossover utilities. There are plenty of sedans by Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volvo and Lexus still being offered and sold in the market. The message that people take away from their abandonment of such models is that Buick admits that they are incapable of designing, developing, offering, marketing or otherwise competing for that automobile segment. Those other makes are certainly capable of offering not only sedans but also the crossovers in the field to which Buick has limited themselves.
so today was all about putting things away into the new closet. a lot of it is childhood stuff that i still have (books, toys, games, stuffed animals). at one point today i really thought about just throwing it all away but i just can't do it... i guess i'm sentimental and can't let go of some memories - how do other people manage it?
so on the right you have some (purposely blurry) stuffed toys and you might even be able to guess who it is (even though it is blurry).

I left the slippery rocks behind, and like I said I found what I needed, a bench!
But...a bench...here?
I crashed on it for a few minutes, and while I was looking at the carpet of leaves I noticed...a house; well, at least the half of a house.
And again, a house here? Small of course, more like a cabin, but where's the other half? oh wait, there's a stone staircase around it that goes down, let's check it out.
Keep in mind that the creek is on the right, way below.

After a series of images from a Carl Zeiss Ultron 50mm f1.8, here's another Ultron-design lens, a SMC Takumar 55mm f1.8.
Figure of 8 Pool, Royal National Park, NSW
On the weekend I headed out to shoot Figure of 8 pool in Royal National Park. It was the result of months of planning, as the rock shelf in which the pool is only accessible at low tide, and we wanted this to coincide with sunrise for nice light, and then we had to work out how to get there! It is a great feeling finally arriving at a location and shooting it after the effort put in to get there.

This is my pinewood derby car I built with my dad when I was 8. I still have the scar from slicing my knee with a saw, but that was a great time.
Ol' number 8 is still undefeated.

This is the first photograph in my 'Miniature Worlds' collection. The entire collection focuses on mixing objects of a different scale in harmony in a single frame. 'Bookworm' is a very personal image to the model Sam who has had a great love of reading for as long as I've known him. However being dyslexic he has always had a really hard time reading and writing for himself. As a result of this he encountered more than his fair share of bullying during his school years. Yet through pure determination combined with his love of great storytelling he overcomes the obstacles life has thrown at him one step at a time growing more confident in his abilities every day. Sam has even taken the skills he has learned from reading the novels he loves and has recently applied them into writing his own works of fiction, although it is often a long and stressful task for him. Sam's sense of determination is truly inspiring and should be seen as a lesson to anyone struggling to overcome life's hurdles and the negativity that comes along with it. I wanted the photograph to have a sense of calm to show the feeling of relaxation and escapism Sam encounters while reading. It was also very important to me to express the idea of Sam emerging from the books that for so long he had used to hide away from the world and along with it all of the negative people he had encountered.

I can do a bunch of different stuff in 8 minutes. I can run a mile. Brew a pot of coffee (and maybe pour a cup). Make breakfast and lunch for the day. Iron a shirt. Type about uhhh, 560 words. This exposure is 8 minutes long, during which time I did absolutely nothing but watch the light fade, the water move and these clouds march along above me. I'm ok with that.
