An all EMD lashup of 8 units in various paint schemes leads a Westbound Guilford train at Browns Crossing, NY on April 12, 1986. All 8 units are facing short hood forward. The leader is B&M 358, which used to wear the attractive D&H lightning stripe scheme before getting a coat of Guilford gray.

I haven't been shooting much lately and it's killing me. Too much to do at the day job, trying to close on a house, working on a book project, and spending qt with my baby daughter means that I haven't gotten to go do a dedicated shoot (other than the book project) for some time now. Luckily, I pass plenty of interesting subject matter during the course of my day and have been able to get somewhat of a photography fix in transit.
I just found the perfect coat for my Islandic Winter Getaway! And it was one sale! Muhua. Muhuahua. MuhuAHUAHUAHAUAUAU
Anna's Hummingbird, this is one of my personal favorite capture! I took the challenge to shoot at 2.8 as close as possible to the subject and here is the result. The capture was taken few feet from the ground, the background is grass.... hope you'll enjoy it.

Here's a pixelstick portrait of my brother Trey Carpenter. Hunter and I were able to visit Tyler, Trey and their roommate Micah in NC over the weekend and we had a blast! After hiking a trail earlier that evening then having some tasty Steak N Shake we ventered outside and created some rad shots. I'll be sharing the rest of the images on my Instagram @michaeljosephr . Let me know what you think guys think! As always, thanks for looking everyone!

Hulleys Dennis Dart SLF/Plaxton Pointer 2 SN55DVO (8) seen at Tolls Wood whilst operating the 09:28 Matlock-Bakewell 172.
This was one of two Darts purchased from Yellow Buses in June last year, joining an example (3) which arrived the year before. All three were new for Manchester Airport work. A fourth Dart (11) arrived in September 2019, and has recently been withdrawn with engine failure. The remaining vehicles are due for replacement before January as DCC are specifying that vehicles used on funded services must reach a minimum of Euro IV emissions standards from that point.
One may note the DCC coronavirus distancing poster fixed to the adjacent stop flag in common with just about every other stop under their jurisdiction. I doubt that anyone has boarded a bus there since we were shrouded by the current malaise, and probably for some time before that too!
40 mt in 8 hours, the thing was "do anything but graffiti".
the canvas stands right next the church in my town...sadly known for pollution issues and corruption; people ain't happy, even in the making they were angry and shouting at me the fuck out so I thought it was time to send a message
"save your city, fill it with color!"
true ego trip.

On the night of March 27, 1996 I had the scanner on and heard this guy requesting his meal enroute as he was coming through Rochelle, IL. By this time after the Union Pacific merger, the usual "beans at Dekalb" was denied. But on this evening, the dispatcher let him make the stop. Being a fan on the C&NW Dash 8's--and especially the only one that ended with the number '23', I made my way down to Dekalb to find them behind The Junction shopping plaza on the west side of town. A time exposure, coupled with a clear 25 bulb on the nose, produced this view of the C&NW 8523 and 8718 against the Northern Illinois night.
