Tracey Clark's Picture Fall Day 8: Keeping it Simple
Tracey provided "keeping it simple" as our prompt instructing us to study light by finding a single appealing object and using ambient light to illuminate it from different angles. This mug is so photogenic in it's purity of creamy white and generous shape. I used sunlight behind and off to the side to highlight it's shape and color, adding the leaves because...well, I just couldn't resist.
A Wicked Turn
Acte 8
Almost purring like the proverbial cat, he began to scoop up the unbelievable riches that the jewel case had contained, feeling his pouch growing delightfully ever heavier by the quickly passing seconds.
He opened a small silver case he found inside the bottom drawer and eyed the dazzling matching set of rubies that greeted his hungry hazel coloured eyes. Closing it, he dropped it neatly into the pouch and finished his work.
Where in blazes were the emeralds that had been on the lady as her portrait had been painted?
Disappointedly, nowhere in sight!
As he placed in the final bit of jewellery, a rather large cocktail ring, in with the rest of its purloined companions, his eyes traveled to the rather inviting diamond tiara that lay upon a silk leopard-skin slip.
It was real he noted with a combination of pleasure and bewilderment.
Why was it not being worn out this evening by the fair lady of the manor?
This whole affair all been far too easy, and the jewels far to beckoningly valuable, and this,… this regal headpiece fit for a queen, and worth a king’s ransom, was laying here, unprotected, unguarded, why?
Indeed…. Why?
Posting a good scan of the sketch made inside Civita di Bagnoregio's Chiesa San Donato. Lots of detail for my illustrated walking guide project.

Very simply, if he doesn't like you, he'll let you know. He is the fiercest little Aussie I've known. Here, he is making everyone in the neighborhood aware that a financial planner has just arrived, and he is not to be trusted. Luckily, he has a very solid stand-stay, so I was able to capture his dissatisfaction on camera :)

The A-8 Owl was initially designed as a carrier aircraft, one of Ayascara's first indigenous jet fighters. Unfortunately, by the time the first prototype arrived for evaluation, the carrier program it had been planned for had already lost funding. Turns out a largely landlocked country doesn't really need to invest in a supercarrier after all. Nevertheless, the A-8's design had already been mostly finalized, and it would prove capable in many important ways. Its sturdy landing gear, wide delta wing, and excellent forward visibility made it easy for new pilots to fly. Furthermore, its wide wings allowed it to carry a substantial bomb load for its small size. These qualities have allowed the A-8 a new lease on life as a rugged, survivable fighter-bomber and advanced trainer aircraft for Ayascara.

This was started about a month? two months? ago, as my first return to the bricks since JFS 3 last summer. The build started with the realization that I could nest those two cockpit pieces together (like on Evan's F-16 and lots of other cool jets from other people) and still have it sit flush if I incorporated a half-plate offset. The tablescrap nose was originally looking like an attack helicopter, but DC11 is set in 1962 and attack helicopters basically didn't exist then. So I adapted, added those intakes, and the rest of the build came together from there. It's a somewhat chibi jet, which has always been my comfort zone. This was basically finished before the Starfighter, but I hadn't figured out what ordnance to put on yet, and I was too lazy to render without any. Shout-out to Errin for ~~bullying~~ inspiring me to make working landing gear in both the front and rear, as well as for the general AAM design.
