Food is one of my favourite things about Taiwan, second only to the wonderful people. Taipei really is food-heaven for me, a pesky vegan. In my neighbourhood, within a block in each direction there are something like 25 vegetarian restaurants/cafes/foodstands. There are supposed to be around 250 in Taipei and I don't doubt it.
No wonder I'm turning into a chub.
Pictured here is my lunch - three 'meat', veg, brown rice and a 'fish' riceball. Ok, it tastes better than it looks. But what food from 7Eleven looks good anyway? Total NT$88
7-Eleven #36093 (3,585 square feet)

7-Eleven #34067 (3,102 square feet)
3963 George Washington Memorial Highway, Hayes, VA
This was originally a Little Sue, which was built and opened in 1983. It became 7-Eleven on May 8th, 2008.
GreenDrop (closed) [2,640 square feet]
5216 Providence Road, Fairfield Shopping Center, Virginia Beach, VA
This location opened in April 2015 and closed in fall 2018; it was originally 7-Eleven #10890, which was built and opened in 1969 and re-located to the Exxon station across the street in 2014.
7-Eleven #19348 (closed) [2,520 square feet]
1575 Mill Dam Road, Virginia Beach, VA
This location was built and opened in 1977 and relocated to a new store down the street in December 2018.
7-11 in Taiwan seems way cooler than 7-11 in the US. I guess cos it has...ASIAN FOOD. Yeah. 7-11s are everywhere in Taipei. You're not supposed to take photos in em, but no one told me until I was pretty much done taking photos.
7-Eleven #21612 (2,500 square feet)
2215 Richmond Road, Williamsburg, VA
This location was built and opened in 1980 and closed in October 2016. It became a Safelite Auto Glass in winter 2018.
A former 7-Eleven on Bristol Rd. in Flint. This was still a 7-Eleven until maybe the 2000s. Not long after it became Zerka's, they added a little strip behind it that matched the 7-Eleven trim. The strip has an insurance office and a Snap Fitness in it.
Zerka's also took over a former 7-Eleven about three miles away on Fenton Rd., but that one is now closed.
7-Eleven #18756 (closed) [2,520 square feet]
1761 Virginia Beach Boulevard, Virginia Beach, VA
Built and opened in 1977, closed in 2018
The front doors were unlocked! Thankfully, it appears that I'm the first person to go in here in quite some time because no vandalism has taken place. I do hope whoever owns the property re-visits it soon and locks it up before people who don't respect the building like I do find out and mess things up. There was an entire set of keys laying in here, and if it was possible I would've locked the doors myself.
This location was mostly gutted. There's no evidence of the walk-in cooler anymore, but usually the pocket of space seen here that housed the Slurpee and Big Gulp machines gets removed as well. The entire place smelled musty, which is surprising for a store that just closed last year. It's not like there was much to see in this little space but man was it a cool find. I didn't even know about it until I passed by it while driving!

7-Eleven #20445 (2,397 square feet)
5988 Jefferson Ave, Newport News, VA
This location was built and opened in 1979; it was originally located here. The location previously had gas pumps (oddly without a canopy), which were removed in either 2010 or 2011.
7-Eleven #18756 (closed) [2,520 square feet]
1761 Virginia Beach Boulevard, Virginia Beach, VA
Built and opened in 1977, closed in 2018
This is the employee's bathroom. I didn't even think to check if the water is still running!
7-Eleven #15939 (closed)
13131 Warwick Blvd, Newport News, VA
Built and opened in 1974, closed/re-located in 2014
As I mentioned yesterday on the photo of another closed 7-Eleven, when a location like this shuts down it always seems to be a toss-up between keeping the entire sign up and just removing the 7-Eleven logos, or taking the sign down but keeping the base. As you can see here, this store chose to do the latter.
New Card and Keyring FOB for the 7Rewards program. Cards are being given out now in advanced of a national rollout. Currently the smartphone app is the only way to participate in the program.
Yep, we had a 7-Eleven until the early 1990s. This was on county road F-41 en route to the Wurtsmith Air Force Base, and closed around the same time as the base. After a long vacant spell, it's become a Head Start school (!).
Today is national Hot Dog day so no better way to celebrate then by having a FREE hot dog from 7-Eleven. LOL
New Cold Drink Cups for: Fountain Drinks, Iced Coffee, and Slurpee.
Sold at: 7 Eleven, Speedway, and Stripes convenience stores.
Picture is the Extra Large size.
7-Eleven #18673 (2,506 square feet)
14500 Jefferson Avenue, Newport News, VA
This location was built and opened in 1976.
From 7-Eleven press release description “a new snack, triangular in shape, loaded with melted cheese and encrusted with bold Doritos Nacho Cheese flavor.”
My thoughts: (eaten immediately. after purchase) Tasted like Nacho Cheese/Doritos, but texture of hot cheese was odd, left film on tongue/mouth that wasn't too pleasant, kinda chalky overall.
