Arrived today! 8 High resolution digital renders of DC Lego minifigures.
These will going up on the walls of my office.
My two f1.7 rangefinders. Wish I had the Olympus 35 RD to compare.
Here's my take:
The Minolta 7sII feels great. Light and yet confident. Nimble would be a good term to use.
The Canon G-III QL has a firmness and heft that is not overbearing but a bit more than the Minolta for sure.
The canon uses more metal in the lens barrel and special numeral embossing colors. The Minolta is less embellished. Basically, the Minolta looks like a standard well made product and the Canon looks like a "limited edition" of some sort.
Amongst other specs, the Canon has parallax correction and the Minolta doesn't. I haven't noticed the "benefit" because most rangefinder shots are off a little to one side or another, perhaps the Canon would be more accurate but not notably so. I think they both have like an 80% coverage anyways.
The canon has a great long wind stoke, very reassuring. The Minolta is a lighter stoke and quick.
The canon has a rounded shutter button and the Minolta is less ergonomic.
The Minolta has a softer shutter click and is practically vibration-less.
The Canon focuses very smoothly probably due to the parallax correction stuff moving. The Minolta focuses lightly and quickly. Just on the edge of too lightly but just right. The Minolta F (2.8 lens) model focus is very light and too quick, most of them don't have a working shutter either these days. I digress.
I believe that the Minolta lens has more contrast to it. But I think the Canon is a tad sharper.
The Minolta feels better in hand somehow although it's easy to see, though well built, it is not a match for the sharp and tight tolerances of the Canon manufacture.

7 Mile Rim is a Jeep trail just north of Moab, Utah. It's rated difficult. We seem to run it almost every trip. It's a fun one, to be sure! This trip was cut short, though, due to Jeep breakage.
We got a few hours of sun so far this week, so I took lots of outside shots in the limited time we had. Indi loved it too because lost of shots included a Frisbee ;-)
It's a bit overexposed... but I love how her eyes light up. I edited in lightroom and used the preset Childhood BW.
This looks so much better Large On Black
