Seven Sisters (six remaining) Copt Hill, Houghton le Spring,
County Durham. Older than Stonehenge, the Seven Sisters Round Barrow, Copt Hill, Houghton-le-Spring is a Scheduled Ancient Monument. It was excavated by Canon William Greenwell and Mr Thomas William Usherwood Robinson, gentleman and local landowner, in September 1877. They found several cremated bodies, probably Neolithic, some pots and a small number of flints, possibly Bronze Age, and evidence that the barrow was used for further burials in the Bronze Age. An urn that they found is now in the British Museum
Madonna&Child.7 Works on paper, mixed media on hand made paper. Series of seven.
This subject and the whole series, in general, came about subconsciously when I realized that all of the individual pieces in this first series on paper, possessed a recurring theme... Madonna & Child (from master paintings). When casually asked by my husband Sol Lang which one I was... Madonna? OR Child?, I perhaps should have said Madonna (mother/woman), but instead, I realized that I in fact had identified more with the child in each of these pieces. I was the child. This was the catalyst which started me thinking about what was going on.... and I began a new series (of prints this time) that also touches this theme, but now I brought in a deeper understanding, which included myself both as mother and (inner) child. I completed a series of ten prints and later a second series of ten. Also in the works, is a video on the subject.

Gand is different. It's an environment which I haven't experienced before. The surface is littered with remains of countless demolished craft, left to rot in the barren desert. Everything is static; lifeless. Alone. The solid lack of civilization was unbearable. Walking through the debris and shattered residue of the Rinv VI was quite absurd as well, considering how nothing was recognizable. The entire vessel had been obliterated on impact when it had collided with the planet. Anything that hadn't made it out might as well either be dead or dying. Or infected, to make matters worse.
The Rakghoul plague had spread through the entire station. Occasionally I would come upon one of those god forsaken monsters, each with a slight resemblance of a former soldier, with bits and pieces of Republic Armor straggling from their flesh. It was disgusting. The best I could do was avoid them, but even that proved difficult. They were everywhere, and hunted in dozens upon dozens.
They found me. It was impossible to reach the damaged bio-weapons without shooting something. There was only one, but that was enough. I could easily pick it off with Ruby, my rifle, but couldn't find the nerve to kill it. It was still a former soldier. A friend. Consumed by the intentions of the Sith acolyte, it was still a person at that. I pulled the trigger.
I killed it. No, I killed him. The faint resemblance of Fett's face fell to the ground as the body toppled over. Confederate bastards. They're contaminating the entire planet.

Mission 7.1 in the 457th Corps.
Took this shot while installing System 7.0.1 on the SE/30. Was actually just temporary to get a fresh system install & ensure sound is working. Next up I'll try 7.1 now that I've got 32mb of RAM in this classic old powerhouse! heheh
