[APOLOGIES FOR BLURRY PICTURE] A cardboard AK-74 replica I made back in February. I'm not sure of the exact dimensions of a real-steel AK-74, but I was told it's 1:1, however it has a few imperfections. For one, I know the stock is way too small and the magazine looks more like a Saiga-12's than an AK-74's. It has a working trigger, charging handle, magazine release, adjustable rear sight, removable cleaning rod, and it's able to field strip. The extent of its ability to field strip is very limited - the most you can do is remove the machinery cover, the recoil spring guide rod, and the bolt carrier. The rail on top of the handguard is actually able to fit a reflex sight (which I use for airsoft). The magazine is inserted just like a real AK, but the magazine release still has a few bugs that have yet to be addressed. I don't have any plans to paint this.

16/5/07 : i cam home from work and slapped a load of marilyn (from lush) on my hair before settling down to play zelda and having a bit of a natter with a friend. i didn't really fancy a self portrait of me with my hair wrapped in cling film, but he said i should do it while i had the chance. so i did. but i hid behind a windmill things we bought at the seaside a couple of years ago to disguise how silly i look. i'm not sure it worked. but my hair is gonna be super soft and silky tomorrow and that is the important thing. hell yeah.

Things got a little out of hand today at the office...

This is the Galaxy Messier 74. Shot with an EOS 550D mounted to a Skywatcher 150/750 telescope. Exposure was around 49 minutes with ISO 800.

I rested up a lot over the weekend and that meant lots of reading, which was nice. I've been enjoying this book about life in Copenhagen in the 1700s. Definitely a rowdy town! :)
