Here is the first of three nigh identical photos that saw a consecutive trio of orange line E400 diesels come by in fleet number order! Although neat that I got three in order, it was sort of by accident that it happened that way.

Looking on Bustimes (as ever), I'd spotted that 621 was operating a 36 towards Chilwell and remembered that my previous photo depicting it on the 36 wasn't brightly sunlit. Ordinarily that isn't the sort of thing I'd specifically go out for, as I might see 621 in the sun again any time, but I also noticed the working a few minutes behind it was being operated by 623, which I'd yet to photograph in 35/36 livery. As it was evening, the sunlight was much further round than when I'm usually photographing around Chilwell, limiting the good lighting angle to a short stretch of Inham Road.

I ended up standing beside the mouth of a side road called Parr Gate for the photo of 621, as it was the first spot I came to with a suitably good light angle, without being stood too close to the roadside and without car or lamp post shadows fouling the width of the road. As much as I wanted to move to a slightly different place for the following photos, there was nowhere else that didn't have parked cars (or their shadows) obstructing the view!

The next thing that happened was essentially a repeat of 603 from a few days before; 623 arrived at Blandford Road and disappeared off the tracker for about ten minutes. It was overtaken by another bus - 622 - which was on a board that terminated in Chilwell. That one passed me displaying 'not in service', and a minute after that, 623 reappeared on the tracker and went by with the next 36 to Victoria Centre... leaving me with photos of 621/2/3 in order!

So, with the full story out of the way (expect for the part where I went on to photograph trams and combine harvesters), here is 621 in Chilwell on 6.8.22, making its way down Inham Road with a 36. The £1-after-7 sticker beside the destination blind remained at this point, while NCT was in the process of removing them from the fleet after the end of the promotion.

Or Common White Stork (Ciconia ciconia)

One of the largest wading having a length between 100 and 200cm and weighing between 2.5 and 4.4 kg. It is distinguished from other birds by presenting white legs and red beak. It is also distinguished by having a long neck, short tail and black wings with white spots. The young show black beak and legs reddish gray. The males larger than females and have a larger peak. Their ritual greetings are accompanied by a popping sound typical of the peak, strongly calling attention. Nests in trees and on tall buildings in towns and cities in inaccessible places such as chimneys or church towers, and provided that you have enough food around, preferably in the vicinity if there is a reservoir or body of water, can be found also in oak woodlands, meadows and isolated buildings. Nests are built with any material that is within reach, branches, root balls of straw, moss, rags, wool and even plastics. Readily accept artificial nests. It feeds on insects and small vertebrates, although there are nearby rivers may also feed on fish. Increasingly, however, rely on landfills to eat or catch small mice and rats in fields for which they are considered beneficial because they eliminate these species harmful to agriculture. From January to March results in the formation of couples and laying 3-5 eggs, usually in March. Incubation lasts for 30 trips and chickens remain in the nest between 50 and 60 days. Until one month after hatching there is always an adult who remains vigilant near the nest. After this period, a parent can now move forward to deal with the young alone. It is a migratory bird and this takes place from December and January until July, when he emigrated to bran, two well-defined routes such as the Strait of Gibraltar and the Bosphorus, but is becoming more prevalent to stay in our territory. The threats posed by White Stork, occur as a result of desiccation of wetlands, pesticides, pollution of streams and rivers, destruction of nests, in-flight collisions with power lines and also due to hunting that is object wintering areas. The White Stork in La Rioja, as in Spain, suffered a major decline in population between the fifties and sixties, but from 1989 began to be an increase in the colony of storks. Focusing on the roof of the Collegiate of San Miguel de Alfaro, is the largest known around the world in the same building. Other major concentrations occur in La Rioja Logroño, Calahorra and Haro.

Info (EN): Originally the 3 vehicles from this batch were destined for Lanzarote's public transport system. However after arriving in the island, the local company decided not to go ahead with the purchase. There were 4 rejected vehicles from this decision, 3 were bought by Guaguas Municipales and the 4th one is currently unit 4751 of TITSA in Tenerife. The 3 units that went to Gran Canaria were destined to cover routes with medium-low density such as lines 6, 7, 18, 19, 41 or 70. Nevertheless with the arrival of the new Iveco Heuliez vehicles and the lack of spare parts due to Tata Hispano's bankrupcy, the decision was made to keep these as substitute vehicles. They currently cover routes 7 and 70, one bus at a time every several days.

Steamranger's 620 class steam locomotive, 621 'Duke of Edinburgh' passes the grain silos at Strathalbyn whilst hauling the Southern Encounter service on 13th August 2017.

621 is on the 36 and looks quite pleased about it, although being an E400 it invariably spends 24/7 looking pleased, since that's the kind of feeling I get off these facelift Enviro buses and I can't not see it. A lot of buses tend to look downright miserable or sometimes even angry... or just straight up ugly which is what most manufacturers go for these days.

No idea how the shutter speed got to 1/5000 sec and aperture f/6.3. Neither number is a setting I use, and I don't shoot in fully automatic or program modes. Considering the 1DX2 is a new camera, I would guess there is a software bug in LightRoom exporting the EXIF data to JPEG.
