Fiat built the first generation of the 600 from 1955 until 1969. Later models like this one were built in license by Seat until 1973. In Yugoslavia the car was built by Zastava well into the 1980's. That model was also sold here.

The 600 was DAF's first production passenger car. It was built from 1959 until 1963. Later models were called Daffodil and 33. Most interesting about DAF cars was the Variomatic, the first continuously variable transmission available.
Long Island Rail Road 600 trailing at Long Island City in Queens, New York City on an unknown day in June 1980, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Built as NYC FA2 1102 in October 1951 ( c/n 79301 ), later PC 1302, acquired March 6, 1974, and although it retained its Alco Model 244 diesel, it was derated to 600 hp, the traction motors were removed, and the locomotive was converted to a push-pull control cab, providing heat and lighting power to the coaches. It later found a home at the Western New York Railway Historical Society in Lackawanna, New York.
I can't imagine how useful a Seat 600 would be as a panel van but a quick Google reveals they were a real thing making this Guisval equivalent more accurate than I initially thought. They've skilfully adapted their ancient Pilen inherited casting by removing any rear side windows and looking on their online catalogue have made it available in scores of different liveries.
This one is totally devoid of such things, just a lovely pastel blue colour with cutesy whitewall tyres and chrome disc wheels as well as neat front and rear detailing.
Sourced directly from the Guisval factory recently.
Mint and boxed.

A page from the 1957 brochure for the Lloyd 600 cars. An international market item because it has no text at all besides the Lloyd name and logo.
At that period, about 2/3 of all Lloyd dealers in the world were in West Germany.
This model has no trunk lid, so luggage access is behind the rear seat. Last year for the sliding windows. For 1958 they got external access for luggage. Constant improvement.
