Out for groceries last night and decided to make use of the long shadows. This time of year the normal crowds of people would make this image very challenging to achieve.

My newly acquired Canon 5DSR + 100-400 lens. The fist time I took out my new wild life kit, I had this magnificent Turkey Vulture appear out of nowhere and fly right over my head. This was a very unexpected gift that I was totally unprepared for!
I had just figured out Canon's Av / Tv terminology, and One Shot probably meant AF-S, and AI-Servo probably meant AF-C, as the rest of the world knows. I don't know what settings I had on the camera, but it was already on, and the lens at 400mm. There was no time to think, so I just pointed and clicked. Missed the best focus and framing, not even close. But a very memorable shot.
This is almost all of the frame.

This is the small path I take daily when I go walking to the office. This a beautiful little corner of Vevey that deserves to be photographed. So one gloomy autumn day I went out with my son to photograph this location. I realized that adding a human object in the scene will help enhancing the overall composition of the image. So asked my son to walk through. As you can see from the EXIF information; the original image was taken at a much slower shutter speed of 1.6 seconds. I took another high ISO, bit open aperture and faster shutter speed shot of my son walking without moving the tripod and later those two were merged with simple layer musk in Photoshop.

I just got the new Canon 5DSR and have been out shooting with it this weekend. The detail is amazing! Here is a shot of Tower Bridge at night with the road lifted to allow a boat to go through. If you could see the original then you'd see how much you can zoom in on this image, even resized to this dimension, it still looks super clean though.

Things I ate while in Raleigh: Bojangles, Eastern NC BBQ, and Mexican Birria Tacos. None of them were a disappointment.
I also took this image from MLK Boulevard on the southside - the last time I took a photo from here was August 2009. And I have to say - it's disappointing that this city core hasn't visibly grown in over twelve years.
Nevertheless, here's where I grew up - Raleigh, NC, USA.
