The Dunnock (Prunella modularis) is a species of bird in the genus Braunellen, the only genus in the family of the same name, Braunellen (Prunellidae). The Dunnock is a widespread and common breeding and summer bird in Central Europe, but because of its inconspicuous plumage it is usually only noticed for its vocalisations. In some areas of Central Europe it is even an annual bird. Hedge sparrows are particularly common in young spruce stands. In the mountains, they occur as far as the knee timber region.

Die Heckenbraunelle (Prunella modularis) ist eine Vogelart aus der Gattung Braunellen, der einzigen Gattung in der gleichnamigen Familie Braunellen (Prunellidae). Die Heckenbraunelle ist in Mitteleuropa ein weit verbreiteter und häufiger Brut- und Sommervogel, der wegen des unauffälligen Gefieders aber meist nur durch seine Lautäußerungen auffällt. In einigen Gebieten Mitteleuropas ist sie sogar ein Jahresvogel. Heckenbraunellen sind besonders in jungen Fichtenbeständen anzutreffen. Im Gebirge kommen sie bis in die Knieholzregion vor.

Its been a while since I've had some time to get out and do some photography. Life....sometimes ughh! Had to at least get out to enjoy the fall foliage though, it's my favorite time of year. Hope everyone is doing well!

Vereinzelt stehen sie da - nächste Woche bei gutem Wetter wird es da wohl einen ordentlichen Blütenschub geben.

1st time walking the Williamsburg bridge. I personally found it more interesting than the Brooklyn bridge, which is a whole lot more famous and Manhattan bridge which looks downright sketchy. Lots of interesting light and shadow-play, and this awesome perspective of the trains crossing the bridge.

The cormorants are a family from the order Suliformes. They are medium-sized to large waterfowl that breed in colonies and are distributed worldwide with over 40 species. If the birds wear a head of feathers, they are called "shags", otherwise "cormorants", but this classification does not correspond to the actual relationships. In the vernacular, these birds are also called "sea ravens", "sea ravens" or "water ravens"; the name cormorant is accordingly derived from the Latin "corvus marinus".

Die Kormorane sind eine Familie aus der Ordnung Suliformes. Es handelt sich um mittelgroße bis große Wasservögel, die in Kolonien brüten und mit über 40 Arten weltweit verbreitet sind. Tragen die Vögel einen Federschopf, werden sie als „Scharben“, sonst als „Kormorane“ bezeichnet, doch entspricht diese Einteilung nicht den tatsächlichen Verwandtschaftsverhältnissen. Im Volksmund heißen diese Vögel auch „Seeraben“, „Meerraben“ oder „Wasserraben“; der Name Kormoran ist entsprechend aus dem lateinischen „corvus marinus“ abgeleitet.

Die Brutzeit der Kormorane ist von März bis Juli. Während dieser Zeit paaren sich die Kormorane und bauen ihre Nester.

Unfortunately its headed to CPS for repair as it totally crapped out on me last week while on vacation - electrical issues - LCD stopped working and can't change settings, etc... If anyone else had similar issues please let me know.
