This colorful 5000-piece puzzle, manufactured by FX Schmid in the early 1990s, depicts a painting by Canaletto of Venice. If I recall correctly, I finished this puzzle in 2003.

Not the sharpest, but totally decent. Of course if I'd have used a tripod or a support the results would have been incomparably better, but, pfff... I was sitting on the floor and playing with my dog and my camera, late at night. Processed in Lightroom, including the noise reduction.
Sometimes when you take an experimental beard serum weird things are going to happen. Gary here used to have a scraggly teenager's bumfluff beard at the ripe old age of 32 and he wasn't a happy chap. He had long yearned for a thick luscious hipster's beard like his best friend Fitz and intended, somehow, to get one. He'd tried all sorts of so called remedies - from rubbing his face with peanut butter to shaving every 20 minutes in an attempt to force growth, all to no avail. His prayers would be answered soon enough however.
In desperation, after a late night's internetting, he clicked on a link to a somewhat shady company that sold research chemicals and promptly parted with a week's wages for a course of the unproven and experimental Hexabeard 5000. With the instructions being in Chinese he did the best he could when his package arrived and did all the pills over the course of a week. The following Monday new growth could definitely be seen and within a few days he had a full beard. He was over the moon. Then the coloured hexagons started appearing, web-like growth would materialise overnight and his eyes started to change.
At first he was scared but it quickly made him the coolest hipster in town. Unfortunately this was only for about 2 weeks until a 7 year old with a 2ft long bushy beard came along and blew all the competition away. The moral of the story? Well, like life you'll just have to work it out for yourself...

Black 5 No 5000 on Northwich shed on 20 April 1980. Although Northwich was a bastion of Class 8Fs, I'm sure the Black 5 would have felt very comfortable here.
CIND 5000 pulls across the Paint Creek trestle as the Cincinnati turn (far right, background) waits patiently for 5000 to clear so they can head back to Cincinnati.
This was a fun puzzle. I enjoyed the sea life and all the colors. The blue was a little monotonous, but still, not that bad. The worst part was I ended up 2 pieces short. Frustrating, but par for the course for me. I've looked in all the usual places and have waited a few days for them to surface, but I'm sure the dog got them.
All in all, a great Ravensburger puzzel!

As if they all started and ended at the same pair of points, but followed their own routes in between. A lot of nearly straight lines but also a lot of wild divergence.

A whole mess of jigsaw puzzles. I dragged these out right before I was moving out of my former house. The framed puzzle is a 5000 piece FX Schmid puzzle of a World Map, 1708. The colorful stained glass image is a 6000 piece manufactured by Bits and Pieces called "Window Wonderland." To the left, a 4000 piece Bruegel painting 'Children's Games.' Other images in this set will give you a better view of these individually.
