Another view of an old graveyard in York, England. The contrast of the green and the pink petals of the flowering tree really attracted me to this scene.
A lovely little Gosling in a field of Daisies, I was lucky enough to get really close to these, the parents for a change didn't seem bothered, they were more concerned with other Canada Geese lurking in the back ground.
I must say it was a perfect day, the temperature was about right, a very slight breeze and beautiful blue skies, I was outside from 9am-7:30pm, absolutely knackered now, so hoping to sleep well and get up even earlier for tomorrow :o)

The snow is very hard and crunchy but bits of last summers grass is still showing itself to remind me that eventually spring will come.

Taken at Porthleven Cornwall UK. This active fishing harbour is usually full of boats but the recent storms in the South West of England have been relentless, causing the protective baulks at the entrance to be smashed to pieces - weighing in excess of 2 tonnes each it gives you an idea of the amount of force generated by the incoming waves. After the sinking of 10 boats it was decided to remove the remaining ones. This has not happened in the past 125 years and is a real once in a lifetime event for the village. Having grown up in the village i am both amazed and saddened by this photo.

The Simatai section of the Great Wall is one of the few sections to retain the original appearance of the Great Wall. It’s very varied in makeup. Simatai has many characteristics of other Great Wall sections, and some unique features of its own. It's the only section opened for a night tour.
The section was originally built during the Northern Qi dynasty (550–577) and rebuilt during the Hongwu Emperor's reign during the Ming dynasty.
Simatai Great Wall is 5.4 km long with 35 beacon towers. This section of the Great Wall incorporated the different characteristics of each section of the Great Wall. A specialist on the Great Wall, Professor Luo Zhewen, has said that "The Great Wall is the best of the Chinese buildings, and Simatai is the best of the Great Wall."UNESCO has designated Simatai Great Wall as one of the World Cultural Heritage Sites as part of the Great Wall World Heritage Site.
Simatai Great Wall is separated by a valley into eastern and western parts. The western part is gently sloped with 20 well-preserved watchtowers dotting along the wall. The eastern part is much steeper, following more rugged terrain that includes cliff edges and kilometre-high peaks.
Hanging precariously onto the Yanshan Mountain, Simatai Great Wall is known for its steepness. Open-air gondolas provide a way to ascend partway up the wall. The 17 watchtowers are relatively closely spaced and have views of the surrounding area.
