"You must see things I don't."
So went the quote from a work colleague a few days ago having seen some of my pictures - and within moments it dawned on me I couldn't wish for a better accolade! What a great line, and even though much of my photography may be... somewhat obvious, I crave those times when it rings true. It's happened to me on several occasions, times when people passing hesitate, glance discretely (or sometimes so blatantly as to be almost rude) in the direction of my lens and look puzzled. I really love those situations, so much so I almost become disappointed if I don't catch sight of a sneaky double-take... There was a time when I'd try to explain, but I rarely bother nowadays - instead it either means I'm wasting my time in pursuit of something too obtuse to merit wider appreciation, or I'm really on to something. That little facet of mundanity laden with potential that noone saw, nobody noticed... they just didn't see.
There are certain subjects that warrant attention from everyone's camera, icons that have been photographed thousands of times just because, well, because they're so fantastically photogenic. We all shoot these, and I see nothing wrong in it - does a memorable scene become less so simply because the world has viewed it? Or does it's appeal blossom still further? Naturally we all seek originality in an artform where (like all others) it's becoming increasingly difficult to achieve, and once in a while we may strike lucky - it all comes down to perception, understanding, interpretation and realisation. But I hope there will always be scope for further exploration of those subjects which a small, nagging voice whispers are taboo either by repetition or familiarity.

Tomorrow it will be our anniversary quarter of marriage.
This was part of my 2-hour timelapse from a few weeks ago.
This light entered the camera at about 4:30 am and took over after a few minutes. The camera's battery "exhausted", and wouldn't work properly for the rest of the day.
It appears to be the sun, 4:30 am is a little early a month ago for the sun to be rising, but, oh well. You can see the Milky Way and a nice glare as well.
Aliens? Nah.

While I was off of Flickr, Marvel announced their movies and TV shows for Phase 4, and it looks like it's going to be great! I decided to make a lot of figs for the movies/shows, accompanied by a brief description of my thoughts on the movie/show.
Black Widow: (Black Widow, Taskmaster, Red Guardian) To start Phase 4, we have Black Widow! Based on the descriptions of the revealed footage, the fight scenes sound like they will be amazing. Taskmaster's concept art also got revealed, and while it's not as good as Spider-Man PS4's, I really like how it looks. However, since the movie is set between Civil War and Infinity War, I wonder how they're going to tie Taskmaster into the universe. And we finally get to see Budapest! The figures I designed were my pre-existing Black Widow and Taskmaster, alongside an idea as to what David Harbour's Red Guardian could look like.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (Falcon, Winter Soldier, Zemo): The first of the Disney+ shows, and it looks great! So glad to see Zemo finally don the iconic mask. Hopefully, Falcon gets a cool new outfit for his Captain America attire. Agent 13 returning is a cool inclusion as well. The figures I designed were my pre-existing White Wolf, a custom Falcon Cap, and Zemo.
The Eternals (Thena, Ikaris): I have no idea who these guys are. Hopefully, this ends up being a GotG-esque situation where a relatively-unknown team becomes super popular. The leaked concept art looks great though! The figures I designed are Thena and Ikaris.
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (Shang-Chi, Mandarin): Finally, the real Mandarin! Really wish we could have seen him in Iron Man 3, but better late than never. Another character that I don't know much about, but more MCU diversity is always a win! The figures are a semi-accurate/inspired by Shang-Chi and the Mandarin.
WandaVision (Scarlet Witch, Vision): God I hate this title so much. It sounds like a middle schooler's fan fiction title. Also, Vision is back which kinda renders the powerful Infinity War scene pointless? Should be a fun show nonetheless. The figs are the standard Age of Ultron Scarlet Witch and Vision.
Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness (Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch, Nightmare): Apparently this is the MCU's first horror film? It's still PG-13 but is a "suspense thriller". And with Nightmare as the villain, the VFX should be incredible yet again. Also, Wanda is teaming up with Doctor Strange! I really hope it's about Doctor Strange teaching Wanda to really control her chaos magic into more than energy bolts. The figures are the normal Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch, and a custom Nightmare.
Loki (Loki): I hate the logo. It's objectively terrible. But alternate 2012 Loki hopping around time to turn himself into humanity's god/ruler? Sounds incredibly fun to watch. The figure is an upgraded 2012 Loki.
What If...? (Captain America [Peggy Carter]): Definitely the show I'm looking forward to the most. The MCU's first animated media and I'm (probably foolishly) hoping it either follows Spiderverse's aesthetic or each episode has a unique style of animation (2D, 3D, classic comic, etc). The figure is a pretty simple Peggy Carter (Captain America), which is the plot behind the first episode.
Hawkeye (Hawkeye, Kate Bishop): I thought Jeremy Renner was done after Endgame, but apparently not! It's rumored that we're seeing more of Ronin which is going to be awesome to watch, and I can't wait to see Kate Bishop on the big screen. Hopefully, we can see Young Avengers in Phase 5! The figures are Civil War Hawkeye and an easy Kate Bishop.
Thor: Love and Thunder (Thor, Valkyrie, Thor (Jane Foster): Rounding out Phase 4 we have Thor: Love and Thunder! So glad to see Taika Waititi back directing! Hopefully, that means we get more Korg. Super surprised Natalie Portman is back as with Marvel as Mighty Thor, and I'm confused how they're going to explain her absence in Ragnarok. Other than that, there's not much we know about the movie at this time. Figures are IW Thor, Valkyrie, and a quick Jane Fos-Thor.

Week 4 : Flowers.
If you've been following my work long enough to know my style, you'll know how much I love flowers. I already had a lot of ideas in mind, made up around the concept of flowers so this wasn't hard. The hard part was me being clumsy - accidentally scraped my knee and got a minor cut on my finger. But other than that, all is good!

Best viewed large. All rights reserved. As one travels between Bend and Sisters on Highway 20 you may get to see at least 7 snowcapped volcanos at once. In this pano I stitched 9 horizontal frames together to capture 4 of these volcanos. On the left is Broken Top, progressing to the right is South Sister, then Middle Sister and finally North Sister. If you have never seen this area on a clear day you owe yourself a trip! It amazes me how large an image can become while simultaneously becoming so small in a panograph!

My house is a Mess. I'm not kidding, like a big messy mess. Laundry, papers, dare I say...soap scum? My life feels a bit upside down right now, I've been so busy with photo clients ( which is awesome) that I've had no time to clean. But you know what no one minds. My kids don't notice, my husband doesn't care.And at the end of the day, I"m still so happy when I get here, home. I snuggle in with my family, my little parliament ( that's an owl family)
and its lovely. I'm happy that I have a home to call home. In a month or two the hustle and bustle will settle, and all will be clean again. Dorothy was right. There really is no place like home.
Day 4:30 Thankful for my home
I'm photographing a wedding this weekend (my nerves) and then my husband is whisking me off for a romantic night away for our 12th wedding anniversary. He's even helping me with the wedding, he offered to be there, especially cause it's our anni weekend and he wanted to be with me. So much to be thankful for!!

4-LOM is a LOM-series protocol droid manufactured by Industrial Automaton. It is known for use of a variety of alien species. His head is sculpted to resemble the features of the insectoid species and its roughly humanoid build. Jabba discovered this intelligent droid and used him often as a bounty hunter, usually partnering him with less intelligent hunters.
Creepy it is. I know. And I'm sorry. But I so had to do this. I mean this creature is very well crafted for a Hasbro's action figure. There are so many different angles to work with the camera.
