summing up summer
I went out today with no real idea in mind, I have been keeping away from the golf course because of my most recent case of poison ivy. It's actually finally starting to settle down again, although a few days ago I was really miserable. I know this is what I get for not being cautious, but sometimes a photo is worth a few scars (my feet photo uploaded alongside this really supports that idea). So I went out to the golf course and when I came home I immediately showered and scrubbed my skin just in case. I want to keep doing what I am doing, I don't want to rule out a location because of some shrubbery, so I will make the compromise and be a little cautious this time. I guess getting poison ivy twice in a row should be good enough to make me want to be a little smart about my skin haha
I also broke out my 28 1.8, it's been a while since I have played with it and I always forget how wonderful it is. The depth of field is so beautiful and the wide angle allows for amazing perspectives. I would recommend this lens to anyone, really.
I hope everyone has been well, I haven't put a real caption on a 365 in a few days because I have been so busy but thanks for tuning in even when it seems like I am tuning out

Week 49 / 52 is "numbers". This was shot this afternoon & is one I've wanted to do for quite a while. Working with glass is a lot tougher than it looks, as you are always fighting reflections, & adding a liquid to the mix triples the problems. As my son stood at the alter, waiting for his bride to walk down the aisle to him, I looked over and saw this wonderful light streaming through the windows. I thought of my son's life, from newborn to manhood, and watched as he became a husband to his best friend. It was such a happy time and I was filled with a mother's pride!
Yeah. I felt like taking a picture with a box on my head. It was my great idea for today. I know it isn't REALLY a great idea, but I'm working on school stuff and I need all of my available brain for homework tonight. I've taken the box off and am off to study. Day 49. So much to do, so little time!
There was a "365" post-it in there, but I think it's the one that fell off. :D
Species 49 in the lockdown bird challenge is the Starling, or to be more precise, their chicks. I had not posted a Starling, probably through oversights they are pretty common. However, yesterday whilst out walking I was attracted by a cacophony of sound on the edge of a field and there were literally 40 or so Starling Chicks gathered in a large group all being waited on by their parents. I managed to catch these two waiting to be fed!
A Christmas card I received in the mail from my cousin in South Carolina. On it, an image of a very fashionably attired snowman.

52 Weeks: 2025 Edition: Week 49: Fashion
The project is coming to an end. Currently The project is coming to an end. Currently I'm in a small crisis but I will do my best.
Hopefully a lot of you remember JohnniD - he seems to have departed Flickr, but is alive and very productive on Instagram.
Anyway - over on that platform, he suggested we swapped some instructions. I chose his '49 Chevrolet Pickup and then had a fun morning reworking it here and there to get to this. Hope you like it.
