Here's the last train from this gloomy but busy day spent along the rails of New England's only heavy duty Class 1 mainline.
I strangely have very little coverage along the 15 mile stretch of CSXT's ex Boston and Albany main between Palmer and Springfield, so finally decided to try out a few new (for me) spots on this gray Friday.
Amtrak's Boston section of the Lake Shore Limited to Chicago, train 449, sails west to Albany passing MP 95 on CSXT's Berkshire Sub mainline. Two P42DCs lead the standard four car train of a viewliner sleeper, an Amfleet Cafe and two coaches on Main 2 while CSXT's L038 local ties up Main 1 as they work the westernmost of the pair of Sulco Warehouses located off the main here. Alas the pair of GP38-2s disappeared out of sight into the siding just before the passenger train appeared precluding me from capturing the hoped for side by side scene here looking east from the Roosevelt Ave. overpass.

My award for the "Best Low Pass Of The Day" goes to this 1960 Beech C-45H Expeditor C/N AF-449 N6495D owned by Steve Hewitt. She caught me totally off guard and was literally on the deck and fast.....wish I could have gotten a better photo but I will take what I can get.

Desde que en Gipuzkoa se puede viajar en los MD y RE con los billetes de cercanías, el uso de estos trenes se ha incrementado en el tramo guipuzcoano de la línea. Y a decir verdad se agradece, pues son bastante más cómodos que las 447 y 446 de cercanías. Y no son pocos los que, a sabiendas, dejan pasar un “tranvía” (como aun algunos los llaman) para coger el “regional” y viajar como un señor. Pero todo no se puede en esta vida, y aunque hagan menos paradas, tardan casi el mismo tiempo que los cercanías en llegar a Donostia. También genera confusión entre los pasajeros no habituales, y casi a diario se escucha en las estación de Donostia “¿Esto para en Tolosa?”. Y siempre hay algún desconfiado que prefiere no arriesgarse, no vaya a ser que hasta Madrid no pare.

El MD "Costa de la Mancha" pasa a buena velocidad por Sax, en su camino desde Alicante a Ciudad Real.

Renfe Serie 449 TEMD (Tren Eléctrico de Media Distancia) EMU, built by CAF, with MD 18110 from León to Madrid Príncipe Pio.
Amtrak train 449, the Boston Section of the Lakeshore Limited throttles up departing from its station stop and heads through CP98 on CSXT's ex Boston and Albany Berkshire Sub with four cars trailing three units. At Albany-Rensselaer the train will combine with 49 up from New York City and continue west overnight to Chicago.

449 is seen passing through Canning Circus, out of service and on its way towards the city centre on 23.7.22
This bus was new to Lothian buses a 449 in 2016.

The 22 no longer covers the north of Edinburgh, Leith and Ocean Terminal, after many years of doing so. The 22 now terminates at Waterloo Place and now only covers the south end of the route, West Approach, Stenhouse and The Gyle.
