Casino-Free Philly is about to launch a campaign to end "quicksand credit" - the casino's policy of giving loans to people when they run out of money on the casino floor. It's hard to believe they do it! But they do, because really all they're interested in is making more addicts so they can make more money, since casinos make 90% of their profits off the 10% off their "customers" who are problem gamblers.
Anyway, today I went to the casino to inquire about getting a line of credit. They gave me so much good information! Like how they are willing to "overlook" certain debts if they really want to give you a loan. These guys are bad guys...
This time last year, I was walking on black sand.
My 366 project became a daily journal. It has really teached me to be responsible and active everyday.

I had just finished photographing a stranger on the sidewalk, turned and started to walk away, when a strong voice came from the alley nearby. "What, you don't want my picture too?" He was about two steps into the alley, and had the slightest hint of a smile. There were a lot of people walking up and down the sidewalk, and I saw I could frame a good portrait from where I was without going into the alley so I said "Of course I want your portrait too." This is one of those shots I'm not likely to forget.
This picture is #41 in my 100 strangers project. I sincerely welcome constructive criticism as I am a new at this and desperately trying to learn. See pictures taken by other photographers at the 100 Strangers Flickr Group page
