100 Portraits of 100 Strangers #41
www.flickr.com/groups/100strangers/
Meet Sam Logan (gastownsam.com) He's a local artist who sets up in Gastown (Vancouver BC) every Summer. I've always wanted one of his paintings and this was the day I finally got one. (A small one, I'm no Rockefeller). I encourage everyone to check him out at his website. His paintings are really neat. They remind me of Ted Harrison's paintings, but with richer colours and gradients.
I actually took this photo on Canada last year but only just now got around to developing the roll.
Thanks for the portrait Sam!

Redhead (stranger 41)
Somehow I have a preference for redheads. And when I look at my old photos, it is mainly women who come before my lens. So when I saw this red-haired boy, I immediately went up to him and told him about the 100strangers project. He immediately thought it was a great project and started asking all kinds of questions. All very friendly. So I took a picture and continued walking. A moment later I changed my mind, I didn't ask his name, and turned around. Unfortunately he had already left. Therefore no name, just “redhead”.
This is the 41st photo of my 4th round of the 100strangers project. I enjoy doing it, that's why it's the 4th round.

Side view of a German FlaK 41 88mm anit-aircraft gun. By all accounts the limited production of FlaK 41 were anti-aircraft weapon serving only within German borders. But the large shield on this mount leads me to think otherwise. (FMAR0319 G11)

19 és 41-es villamosok a BAtthány téri végállomáson. Annyira rákészültem a képre, hogy a 19-es indulása előtti pillanatban nyomtam meg a gombot.
Az első négy kép a filmes sorozatból.
A Fujicolor Superia X-Tra 400-as filmre készültek egy Nikon F60-as géppel (lásd visszább).

41' x 19'6' 3'6'
1970
Florida $75,000
Description: Family cruiser with good performance, most of the boat things were renewed from 2006 on, blister protection and epoxi coated, not many coats anti-fouling, cockpit and deck are re-conditioned in 2008, boat is ready to sail, boat may need hull painting and renewal of headliners in some cabins, owner will be on board in December and January, boat has German flag. The boat is bone dry, no leaking windows, bulk heads are repaired and strenghtened, we took the side windows out, the new owner may decide to put new widows in or to make just an illusion. The boat has lots of storage and many impovements like 4 big lockers at the end of the cockpit, all boatyard made. When we took over the boat it was in a poor condition. Right now it is a serious cruising boat to live aboard or sail around the world. There are also many extras we cannot tell them all. For a quick sale (contract until 20th January 2015) we would reduce the price dramatically because we are done with the sailing in the US waters. We are heading back to Europe.
Equipment: VETUS diesel engines new in 2006 and 2008 (321 and 235 hours), high quality equipment: HARKEN, Lewmar, Lofrance electric windlass, two max prop threeblade propellers, AUTOHELM autopilot, watermaker, QUANTUM furling sail, fully batten main sail, cockpit sunbrella sun protection, pilot house, many improvements
1978 Ferrari 400 Automatic
Chassis No. 24297
At the 1976 Paris Auto Salon, Ferrari introduced the new 400 2+2, its replacement for the 365 GT4 2+2. Featuring distinctively angular styling by Pininfarina, the 400 continued to provide luxurious and spacious high-speed transportation for up to four passengers. Produced in 400 and 412 variants from 1976 until 1989, just 2,383 examples of this limited-production series were built. With its handsome bodywork and high performance levels, the 400 has recently attracted the attention of astute Ferrari collectors and enthusiasts and they are widely regarded as very capable grand touring machines.
24297: Finished in desirable black paint over tan hides, this immaculate one-owner, 19k mile example benefits from a lifetime of proper maintenance and knowledgeable ownership.
A top notch candidate for any preservation class, this car presents superbly inside and out. The original black finish stills displays a deep glossy shine, while all rubbers remain supple and dry-rot free. The clean cabin features dual A/C climate zones - front and rear, a beautiful wood veneered console, and supple two-tone upholstery. The Ferrari remains highly original, as great effort has been put forth to preserve its charm. Original registration card and paperwork accompany the car, along with Instruction Book, dusting cloth, both sets of keys, emergency roadside kit with roll, jack and spare!
Complemented by a set of correct five-spoke magnesium wheels and Michelin tires, this elegant, yet very sporty 400 is certain to offer the thrilling driving experience that only a Ferrari can deliver.

My brother got a new car today, a Dogde Caliber. I'm starting to ease my emotions a bit, only if just slightly. It is a start though.
I keep thinking about a story I'm planning on writing more and more. It's going to be called Walker. It's going to be about a girl my age (sixteen) named Heather who shares her world with her parents--50/50 custody. Her and her mother don't get along well and are always yelling at each other. Her and her brother, who lives full time at their mom's house and doesn't speak to the their dad, don't understand each other in the slightest. Her brother gets all the attention, and it's hell at her mom's house, therefore she's always on top of the moon when she gets to go to her dad's for the week.
Well, one day she pulls up in her cul-de-sac to find the cars away from the driveway, gone, a S O L D sign in their yard. The house empty. Thier house. Her house. Her HOME. All that's left inside is her key and a note from her dad saying that one day, he'll explain everything.
So throughout the story, Heather's recalling a memory when she's six years old and her entire family camps out for two weeks at Walker River, which is their self-proclaimed own little river, with woods all around, and just beautiful. This camping trip is, in Heather's mind and heart, the time when she and her family was completely happy, completely peaceful, everything good. So, naturally, she clings to this memory. A few weeks after she realizes she can't handle this emptiness anymore, she runs away from home and lives at the Walker.
After a while of living there, she meets this guy (the love interest, naturally) who tries to convince her to stay with him in his cabin, but she insists on making nature her home. At the end, her dad finds her and pieces everything together, making her understand everything she never knew, things that fell in between the cracks of her life.
