Getting sick is weak! But at least I get chicken soup in little styrofoam cups while I'm down. And the project goes on.
Brought home a 50mm f/1.4 lens, btw. Excellent bokeh!

This picture is brought to you by the freezing experience I had in the ocean today at beach recreation. We walked out into the water to put the buoys at about knee-depth, and thanks to the wind there were some unexpectedly and unfortunately high waves that got us much wetter and colder than expected :) Most ironically, in the end we brought them in because they wouldn't stay put with the strong waves. Such is life, I guess.

100 Portraits of 100 Strangers #41
www.flickr.com/groups/100strangers/
Meet Sam Logan (gastownsam.com) He's a local artist who sets up in Gastown (Vancouver BC) every Summer. I've always wanted one of his paintings and this was the day I finally got one. (A small one, I'm no Rockefeller). I encourage everyone to check him out at his website. His paintings are really neat. They remind me of Ted Harrison's paintings, but with richer colours and gradients.
I actually took this photo on Canada last year but only just now got around to developing the roll.
Thanks for the portrait Sam!

Redhead (stranger 41)
Somehow I have a preference for redheads. And when I look at my old photos, it is mainly women who come before my lens. So when I saw this red-haired boy, I immediately went up to him and told him about the 100strangers project. He immediately thought it was a great project and started asking all kinds of questions. All very friendly. So I took a picture and continued walking. A moment later I changed my mind, I didn't ask his name, and turned around. Unfortunately he had already left. Therefore no name, just “redhead”.
This is the 41st photo of my 4th round of the 100strangers project. I enjoy doing it, that's why it's the 4th round.
Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at the group 100 Strangers | Flickr: www.flickr.com/groups/100strangers/
Close up of a German FlaK 41 88mm anit-aircraft gun. Front view of a German FlaK 41 88mm anti-aircraft gun. By all accounts the limited production of FlaK 41 were anti-aircraft weapon serving only within German borders. But the large shield on this mount leads me to think otherwise. (FMAR0319 G11)

seeing red
or is it: sea of red?
You can't quite tell right now... all I know is regardless of if you're normally patriotic, into sports, into sportsmanship, healthy competition, hockey, quality commercials or none of the above... these past two weeks have been super exciting for me. No other event seems to get people texting and hurriedly typing away or calling each other... No other event seems to get as many good commercials or moving stories either. Its sad that we have to wait every few years for a major commercial (and at times controversial) sporting event to celebrate strengths and successes together. For me... the olympics remind me to get out and moving, and there's always a tad of an adrenaline rush
Good work Canada... Not normally one for numbers but record breaking is always neat to witness
Nice work fans... you totally made it that much more enjoyable
And as for the tax payers... don't worry, its only $100... not much of a bill to be stiffed with for the party we gave the world if you ask me (and yes, I know about priorities and that we should invest money in health care and education and the environment--I'm pretty socialist so don't worry that I've got it all wrong)
PS: I made these leaves while watching the Canada/US game... The best hockey game I've ever seen. We were easily well matched, it was clean and fast, not to mention insanely tense and anyone's game (especially by the third)... and it didn't hurt that after that struggle we won all the same.
PPS: Mark, enjoy the red

19 és 41-es villamosok a BAtthány téri végállomáson. Annyira rákészültem a képre, hogy a 19-es indulása előtti pillanatban nyomtam meg a gombot.
Az első négy kép a filmes sorozatból.
A Fujicolor Superia X-Tra 400-as filmre készültek egy Nikon F60-as géppel (lásd visszább).
