Old Town Spring, Texas

Toward the end of WW2, the Nazis knew the Russians were advancing so started to destroy the concentration camps. However the Russian army found at least 80,000 shoes. A 2nd cabinet was positioned next to this one. Each cabinet was around 100 foot long (30m).

Other cabinets contained suitcases, hair brushes/toothbrushes, spectacles, artificial limbs, clothes/baby clothes and the one that really upset me was the 2 tons of shaven hair that Nazis shaved off their victims to use to make clothes and fill mattresses. The Russians found 7 tons of hair.

We love Dr. Seuss in our household. For this picture I wish I had a wider angle lens with a shallower DOF - although I did shoot this at f/1.4...

This is a 40' Container that is 50% complete and for sale for $4000. I looked at it today and in the process of buying it for my first livable unit for myself. This is looking out of the end of container.

Proud to be British: Back Home and safe.

Not the same for every one due to the high losses 40 Commando suffered since April 2010 trying to make the world a better place.

We all need to remember those that didn’t come home to their loved ones and the void and distress that has been left within those families.

We also need to remember the guys that suffered life changing injuries and the consequence it will have within these families.

We were lucky: Dave came back in one piece.

LOLA Day 40

September 15, 2014

Well big day today. My house will be going for sale tomorrow :(. It will be the end of one chapter and the beginning of a new one for E and I. But as I said yesterday, it still isn't easy, however this is the best decision for us and our future.

We are still catching up on sleep, and when I was at a loss on what to photograph for tonight I decided this would be good. Sorry if I am making you all yawn, because I totally keep yawning, YYAAAWWWNNN good night.

Quotes for today:

“There is no real ending. It’s just the place where you stop the story.”

― Frank Herbert

*“In the planning stage of a book, don't plan the ending. It has to be earned by all that will go before it.”

― Rose Tremain

*“The most important thing is this: to sacrifice what you are now for what you can become tomorrow.”

― Shannon L. Alder

Carnovsky's egg was in a funny little show room facing the street in St Martin's Lane Hotel. It was lit up in cycle by red, green, blue lights and sat over a circular carpet whereon designs were picked out by the light colours.
