This bus was new to Lothian Buses as 40 in 2014.

Today was one of those cold blustery days where I needed a hot beverage to keep warm. So I went to the concession stand during a soccer match and ordered a hot chocolate. That’s when I met Stranger #40.
Sue was behind the counter and I asked her if she would be willing to come out of the warm concession stand to participate in my photo project. There were other people helping out behind the counter, so I didn't think they would mind if I stole her away for a few minutes. Like some of the other strangers that I've taken, Sue said she doesn’t look good in pictures but she acquiesced to my request.
Sue was born in Utica, NY and grew up in nearby Saratoga Springs. She moved down to the DC Metro Area because of a job. After spending 20 years in sales with a printing company, she received her gold Rolodex and retired from corporate America to spend more time raising her family. She is married and has a daughter in high school and twin boys in middle school.
I took several portraits of Sue in a couple of different locations. The picture you see here is one that I thought was the best one.

Meet @celestenic_! She’s the lead singer for @friendsoffoesmusic. In addition, she’s also taking up acting at the university. I first got to know her back in 2013 at Janelle Monae’s concert at JazzFest when my friend Kira introduced me to her. In 2014, I got reacquainted to her when I was commissioned to photograph Friends of Foes for Flow Magazine’s musician feature. I never really got to hang out with her until this afternoon so this was a first for both of us too. Celeste mentioned that their band will be doing a Western Canadian tour for their EP which is really exciting! They’ve got shows lined up for November so y’all better check them out when they’re in town. We share the same practices when it comes to art as it seems, we both just get going on a certain thing and we don’t want to ever break the momentum of working on our art.
We took this portrait a couple of hours ago! An elder gentleman even approached us briefly and advised that the light would be better in 2 hours time. I had to just politely say that I had to work with what I have. I think we got what we needed even if we didn’t have to wait 2 more hours, right Celeste? Haha!

Today is week 40 and no signs of baby yet?
Last two times the babies waited until week 42 to come in to the world, but we hope not this time. This are hoping that this weekend the magic will happen!!!!!
