my mom goes back home tomorrow. this has been the best visit ever. gemma has bonded deeply and will miss her grammie so much. i am so thankful we had these days together and i can't wait for my next visit to virginia!
i was just going to take some shots of my mom and gemma together in the backyard, but alec volunteered to take some shots of the 3 of us. i set it all up and told him to just keep shooting and i think he did a pretty great job.
and how cute is my mom. the best looking 79 year old i have ever seen. i really hope i got those genes!

They were walking cheerily along a village street on their way home when I saw them earlier. They said they are all living in the same neighborhood where they grew up together.
