One of my favorite photos of this train. Here UP 1983 sits on the main after discovering some issues with another motor in their consist. I like this angle, because you can see their entire train to the right of the locomotive's nose. Shot on the Union Pacific River Sub just west of Lexington, MO. 3/7/2015

The sound of a drill filled the room. A quick, loud buzzing of a power drill digging its way through the thick metal of the bank vault. The man holding the drill was crouched down, a duffel bag slung over his back. Another man with a similar bag stood next to him, an AR-15 in his hands.
Up the stairs of the basement was the main lobby of the bank. Around seven or eight civilians were prone on the floor, arms tied behind their backs. There were bodies of dead security guards at the entrance. Four men stood with guns pointing at the various patrons on the ground.
"All of you shut the fuck up!" His voice seemed full of anger. "You fuckers keep quiet and you'll live." This silenced the rooms muffled screams behind gags. Various noises of sobs and sniffles could still be heard from the terrified hostages, but they complied with the burglars. One of them raised their hand to their earpiece. "Hey, how fucking long is that gonna take?"
"He's almost done with the fourth lock. He's got another three to go." The man moved his hand from his earpiece. "Fucking bullshit. I knew we should've brought some c4." As he mumbled to himself, the sound of glass shattering can be heard throughout the lobby. The shards fall like snow onto the men in the lobby, their eyes all averting up. The skylight was shattered.
"What the hell?" One of the men aimed his gun into the air, firing a few rounds off. "Cool it you fucking moron, you're wasting ammo!" The panicked one stopped firing and stared at the others. "Skylights don't just shatter like that! What if the police are already here?"
He took a slap to the face. "Do you hear sirens? It's probably just an animal or something. That glass is likely weak as hell." He started to calm down, "yeah, yeah you're probably-" he was cut off as his eyes were completely wide open. Fear filled his voice. "Where did Allen go?" The other two men turned, noticing their party member was completely gone. "Fucking pussy bailed on us. More of a cut for us I guess." He shrugged.
All of a sudden, a metal ball bounced off of the ground as it fell from the skylight. The three men looked at it. One of them turned to run for cover while the other two weren't so lucky.
The ball began pulsing a bright blue light, blinding the two still in the center of the room. The man who was behind cover peaked up, watching his allies stumble around the now fading light. Both were temporarily blinded, and would need a moment or two to recover. As he began to leave cover, he saw a figure draped in a blue coat drop the the ground. He wore some kind of blue mask, with a white and orange visor over it. In his right hand was a gun that looked like something from a sci-fi film.
He instantly stepped to one of the robbers, slamming his fist into the man's stomach. As he doubled over in pain, a knee caught his jaw. The strike sent him to the floor, unconscious. He raised the blaster in his right hand at the other blinded felon, a shot of electricity exiting the gun, tasing the man.
The vigilante stepped over to one of the hostages, having a blade extend from his gun. He slit the zip-tie around their wrist and undid the gag around their mouth. "It's ok. The police are on their way." The civilian looked up, "There are more of them. Two went to the vault, and a third is still up here."
The thug cursed under his breath as he raised his rifle. Before he could fire, he felt something bite him on the arm. He looked down to see a small, metallic blue bug with it's pincers pinching his skin. "Fuck, that hurts." As he reached down to remove it, it sent around fifty thousand volts of electricity coursing through his nervous system. The assault rifle he was holding dropped to the floor, as did the thug while shaking violently.
"Yeah, I knew he was there," the vigilante remarked, helping the first hostage to a sitting position. "Now you said two are in the vault?"

The two men who were in the vault began running up the stairs. They both had full duffel bags, tens of thousands of dollars within them. They made it to the top of the stairs, only to see a man in a blue costume and trench coat standing in the doorway to the lobby. "And where do you think you two are going?"
They looked at each other, then raised their guns to him. He shook his head in a disappointed matter. "All you had to do was surrender." He then quickly raised his gun, blasting out a jet of compressed air. The power of the shot sent one of them into the wall, leaving a bit of a crack in the brick. The other had a bit better footing, but still fell backwards, tumbling down the stairs. As he reached the bottom, his friend who was stuck to the wall finally fell, landing on top of him.
"Well, now that that's taken care of."

"Sir! Sir! Who are you!?" "Where did you learn to fight?" "Who developed that gun of yours?" "Are you an ally of the police?" "What drives you to be a hero?"
Ted's mind was spinning like a globe. He couldn't get a coherent thought to process in his head, listening to each and every question rattled off. He raised his arms up to silence the crowd.
"I heard a radio frequency being used by these goons, talking about robbing the place. I acted how I saw fit, stopping them. I am a self trained martial artist and build all of my gadgets." He paused for a moment, watching people write these things down. "I am wearing this mask because I am tired of sitting around. I'm tired of the world delving into a state of hurt and despair. I want it brought back to the times when I was a kid, where you could laugh and play games with no worries at all." The journalists took this all in, the news reporters getting his statement on camera.
"I… am the Blue Beetle."

Come July 6th 2011, Jordan Voth and I will be venturing across all of the beautiful states that make up the U.S.
Here is our extremely loose plan as of last night :p
Jordan will be driving straight from WA to my house in Pittsburgh, PA. After a few shoots here, we’ll travel to a few surrounding states (OH, Eastern PA, VA, MD, NY, etc) then make our way toward South FL, stopping in NC, SC, and GA along the way. Once we feel that we have taken FL by storm, we’ll head west bound, hitting up TN, TX, OK, NE, CO, UT, AZ, CA, and OR to reach our final destination of WA. Again, this is a very loose outline of our whole journey and would love to incorporate other cities/states into it!
If any of you beautiful people would like to let us hang ten on your couches or floors we’d be forever grateful, so please let us know if we have a spot to rest our sleepy heads at night <3 If you would like to just hang out or even grab a bite to eat, also let us know! We’ll do our best to stop out to as many cities as possible…We love meeting people!
OH!!! We’ll also be scheduling shoots along the way, so if you’d like to get on the list, the sooner the better! You’ll get both of us for the price of one =p
I hope to hear from many of you inquiring about a hang out sesh/shoot/party/amazing time. Let’s make the summer of 2011 unforgettable!

149 were built in 1908-12, a much improved development of the CdF Midi’s 1301 Class for mixed traffic use. The first 25 were saturated and had slide valves but all those built later were fitted with piston valves, superheaters and, later, Lemaitre wide chimneys and exhausts. The early engines were rebuilt to match.
A very successful class with an excellent steam circuit for the day, they were very free-running and often used on express passenger trains. They were the last French 4-6-0's in service, almost seeing out French steam. Their minimalist cabs makes Churchward’s cabs of the GWR of the period look positively spacious.
