The River Wey is a main tributary of the River Thames in south east England. Its two branches, one of which rises near Alton in Hampshire and the other in West Sussex to the south of Haslemere, join at Tilford in Surrey. Once combined the flow is eastwards then northwards via Godalming and Guildford to meet the Thames at Weybridge. Downstream the river forms the backdrop to Newark Priory and Brooklands. The Wey and Godalming Navigations were built in the 17th and 18th centuries, to create a navigable route from Godalming to the Thames.
The DC Tower 3 is a residential high-rise building buit in the Donau City district in Vienna. Designed by Dominique Perrault and completed in 2021, DC Tower 3 is 110 m high.
This plane had been damaged in a windstorm and cannibalized. This boneyard had two more DC-3's and the adjoining airport had two flyable including one equipped as a crop duster!
A look at the satellite view (10/21) shows the three wrecks still there, but the flyables have flown.
We saw these coyotes hanging out near the Nadeau Trail road through Panamint Valley in Death Valley National Park.
They were a little skittish, but it seemed like they were expecting some handouts.

#3 of 5 Sometimes I run out of trays. when that happens chrysalides are removed from the lids. It's important to scrape as much of their silk off with them as possible. The silk is then used to pin the chrysalis to the foam of the chrysalis tree. I have two trees and they can hold fifty chrysalides each.
Once removed from the lid and placed on the tree, they go outside in protective custody until they are ready to be released. Protective custody is a critter cage on my lanai. That way they are protected from lizards that may be looking for a meal.
Have a fantastic day and happy snapping.

SB-3 has just arrived back on home rails after picking up a large cut of cars from CP's Taylor Yard a few miles to the south. The Steamtown excursion boarding platform is seen at left and is interestingly situated between two active D-L freight lines (the Pocono Main and Laurel Line). Bridge 60 Tower can be seen in the distance, just above the power.

I’ve held back on posting this image since the day I got back from Cornwall. It has special significance for me… not because its an awesome picture, capable of sweeping all before it in competitions, but just a moment in time and a state of mind. I know everyone has had a tough time over the last few years with Covid and lockdowns, followed by the global meltdown exacerbated by the war in Ukraine etc, etc. If we are truly honest with ourselves, most of us have gotten through the worst of the worst unscathed… those who have lost close loved ones or been bombed out of house and home might say ours are first world problems and they’d be right.
Still, everybody has their own personal stories to tell and life can drag you down at the most unexpected moments. I’m envious of those who can pick themselves up, dust themselves down and get on with life, unfortunately, I’m not one of them… I thought I was, but everyone has their breaking point. Mine came on the 6th September 2021 at 10:10am. Without going into all the detail, I put it down to a few things - the lockdowns, family health problems, legal battles and just for good measure – redundancy right in the middle of it all! I suffered a total breakdown resulting in severe anxiety and panic attacks that lasted for months and months. I can’t count the number of counselling sessions I had with Kathy over that time frame. I developed a scale - 10 down to 1 with 10 being the 6th September.
Recovery has been a very long road to travel with many ups and downs but the general trend (and no I haven’t done a spreadsheet on this) has been downwards towards 1. I’m only writing this now as the Cornwall trip was such a highlight for me last year and this very moment, sat on a fallen tree truck snapping away at the leaf covered rocks in the stream had such an uplifting happiness for me. But why three? I haven’t worked out what 1 or 2 means on my scale yet… I don’t think a lottery win would warrant that score as money truly doesn’t buy you happiness, but 3 is a very good day for me and I’m happy with that.
If you’re reading this and feel in a similar situation… yes, there IS light at the end of the tunnel, you will climb out of that pit of gloom. Speak to family and friends, it was the best thing I ever did.
Thanks too all those that helped.

For shits and giggles I took 3 different versions of the same photo... not too sure which is my favourite!
I had my witch balls packed away...maybe that is why it’s been such a bad year! I’m now ready for 2021!
Here is a bit of the folklore surrounding them:
Witch Balls have been very popular since the 18th century. First in England, then in New England, but their actual origin is considered to be much older. For well over 3 centuries hollow glass spheres have been hung in windows to ward off witch's spells, evil spirits and ill fortune. Hanging these decorative glass balls in the window or on the porch is thought to tantalize mischievous spirits which may be threatening a home's tranquillity. The wayward spirit is mesmerized by the ball's reflective beauty. When the spirit touches the sphere it is absorbed and trapped in the web-like strands of the glass inside the ball.
