Was going to shoot the full moon tonight, but i dont really have a good enough lense to do it justice..

Yup, I turn 39 today... The end of my 30's! *sigh* It hasn't been a great birthday week, but that doesn't stop it from arriving!
Birthday horoscope... The planets zone in on friendships and relationships today. It’s definitely a day for contacts and connections. Be proactive: send an email to a friend; arrange an evening out. Someone who’s been out of touch is likely to get back in touch if you deliver the right signals! (...So far this hasn't happened... I did get a call that was a wrong number today... should that count?)

Stranger #39 – Lucie
I was just jotting down notes after having met David, as soon as I’d put my notebook back in my pocket, I saw Lucie. I approached her and asked her if I could take her picture, she was very enthusiastic as she answered yes, I hadn’t even explained the project to her. I asked if she’d like to know what the project was, she said she did but she wanted to do it anyway.
Lucie is a dental assistant. She used to be waitress but with Covid and the sanitary measures meaning the bars are either closed or not working at full capacity, finding work as a waitress isn’t possible at the moment. She has no training as a dental assistant, as it happens, she was at the dentist and she got offered the job. When I asked her what she does as part of her job she told me “I’m the one who vacuums spit from patients’ mouths” I asked Lucie whether she enjoyed her job: “I don’t really like blood, spit, things that come out of the body.”
I took a few pictures of Lucie, she was very nice and enthusiastic. I was worried she might be in a hurry, if I remember correctly it was getting closer to the curfew which was still at 6pm. I should have asked her more questions and learned more about her. Although I like this picture of Lucie, I think it would have worked better as a vertical picture, filling the frame with her face.

Je venais de notrer mes souvenirs et mes impressions de ma rencontre avec David, j’avais juste rangé mon carnet dans ma poche lorsque j’ai vu Lucie. Je l’ai abordé et lui ai demandé si je pouvais la prendre en photo, elle a été très enthousiaste et a dit oui, je ne lui avais pas encore expliqué le projet.
Lucie est assitante dentaire. Elle était serveuse mais avec le Covid et les différentes mesures sanitaires, les bars sont ou fermés ou travaillent au ralenti, trouver du travail en tant que serveuse n’est pas possible en ce moment. Lucie n’a pas suivi de formation pour devenir assistante dentaire. Alors qu’elle était chez le dentiste, celui-ci lui a dit qu’il avait besoin de quelqu’un et lui a demandé si ça lui disait. J’ai demandé à Lucie en quoi consiste son travail: “J’aspire la salive des patients.” J’ai demandé à Lucie si elle aime son travail. “J’aime pas trop le sang, la bave, ce qui sort du corps humain.”
J’ai pris quelques photos de Lucie, elle s’est bien prêtée au jeu. J’avais peur qu’elle ne soit pressée, on approchait du couvre-feu qui était encore à 18h00. J’aurais dû poser plus de questions à Lucie, parler plus longuement avec elle. Bien que j’aime cette photo d’elle, je pense que cette photo aurait été plus réussie si j’avais pris cette photo en orientation portrait en remplissant le cadre avec le visage de Lucie.

I am too busy today to really give much thought for a photo, but tomorrow I will have many, for I will be hanging out with my awesome friend Rikki for a photoshoot & then a birthday party later!
Also going to see Melanie tonight for a drink at the airport. Have not seen her in 5 years! Wow.

Certainly one of Germany's best Neo-Psychedelic bands of the 80s. Very much like early Velvet Underground.

I loved and still love this band!
I think I should quit this project (even though last week was insane here on flickr, got explored and the exposure was way over the top...) but I wont... the pics (at least most of them aren't what I wanted). This year is being a strange and a difficult one, but I've made the commitment to finish it no matter what.. You might get crappy pics, but I gotta say I love this one... 5 mirrors, you can't really tell, but anyhow, here it is....Thanks for all the support!

I've made a big decision today - at the beginning of March, I'm starting the Open University course in digital photography. It's a short course at only 10 weeks, but from everything I've read it is hard work and very intense. I hope I'm up to it!
As of Sunday 25th February 2018, service 39 has been changed over to East Coast Buses and is now operated as service 139.

We pass through Lineville, Alabama, often, but I just noticed this bench today. So, of course, I stopped the car and took a picture.
This is me clipping down the road at 39.8 kph. camera in hand. This is where I have been spending a lot of time so not much camera time. Really behind on commenting on my contacts posts but will catch-up soon.
