CSS&SB 39 and 802 at Michigan City, Indiana on an unknown day in May 1979, Ektachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number 39 was built by the Standard Steel Car Company during 1929 and was equipped with a Pullman-type smoking compartment (a separate room with a passage aisle along one side).
Probably the best sourdough bread around. We stopped at the Boudin restaurant on the way home from soccer today and I couldn't resist a loaf of this goodness.

The lantern (1916) between the leaves is one of my favorite art pieces of Willem Marinus Dudok (1884-1974), the Dutch modernist architect and City Architect of Hilversum. He was best known for the brick Hilversum Town Hall.
The furthest south one can find a Midland Classic vehicle in regular service is Lichfield in the south eastern corner of Staffordshire, though vehicles do venture as far away as Birmingham on various largely worker-orientated contract services. YY67USB (39) is seen here on Eastern Avenue with the 08:15 journey on the clockwise Stowe circular 32. 39 was one of four E200s to join the fleet in late 2019 after their previous operator, Yourbus, ceased trading, though one has since been sold on.

Westerdok, once one of the fringes of the city of Amsterdam, now a hip and trendy residential area...
Location: Westerdokskade, in the background Westerdokseiland and Westerdoksplein.
Coordinates: 52°38'28" N 4°89'17" E
Reason: A 58 kilometers long bicycle ride to Amstelveen and through Amsterdam. I came along this location and wanted to bring this special place in Amsterdam to the attention with this project.
Westerdokseiland: The Westerdokseiland is an island in Amsterdam between the Westerdok and the IJ. It originated in 1832 when this part of the IJ was separated by the construction of the Westerdoksdam and therefore no ebb and flow in the IJ, which was still in open connection with the Zuiderzee until 1870.
The enclosed stretch of water that is now called Westerdok was created on the west side. The Oosterdok was created in a similar way on the east side.
From the 1920s onwards, Westerdokseiland was mainly used as a railway yard, which was connected to the tracks of the Central Station behind it via the Westerdokseiland railway bridge. More than 150 wild plant species grew on the barely four-hectare island. This had everything to do with the port history of the island, and the presence of the Colonial establishment on the Westerdoksdijk. No continent was missing: Jerusalem artichoke, wormwood ragweed, broom herb, sorghum, kafferkoren and serpentine.
At the beginning of the 21st century, large-scale housing construction was realized here. These are large apartment complexes. The lines of sight from the old city were not taken into account during construction, for example the Prinsengracht has completely lost the view of the IJ.
During the construction of the IJdock, a new peninsula added to the Westerdokseiland, this was overcome by making cuts in the buildings. The water of the Westerdok nowadays serves, among other things, as a marina.

For you who makes me feel as light as a butterfly.
It's funny, I never really plan my 365s, well I try but the end result is never really the same. I'm so glad I started this project. I'm just over a month in and can honestly say have already learnt so much. Plus it's quite nice to surprise myself with something new everyday. I've found myself looking at the world around me with newly opened eyes.
One thing I'll say about England, we have some fantastic skies! As I was driving to work the sky was so large and so beautiful with all these different layers of clouds flowing in front of the sun I found it so hard to tear my eyes away and focus on the road!
I so desperately want an SLR : ( With my current camera as broken as it is I find myself using my Mum's little digital Sony... sigh.

It's crazy what ideas I've been coming up with recently. I've gone from floating hair words, to covering my face in glitter, to now a floating picture frame with an ikea special fake plant.
And that's what I call unlikeliness.
