Abell 39 is a faint planetary nebula located in the constellation of Hercules. It is one of the most perfectly spherical planetary nebulae.
At the center is a hot stellar remnant that is evolving into a white dwarf. Interestingly, the star is slightly offset from the nebula's geometric center, possibly due to an asymmetric mass ejection during the star's final stages.

Declination: +27° 55′
Magnitude: ~13.7
Diameter: 11,000 years after its parent star shed its outer layers.

This is a re-post/re-edit of a photo from my 52 week project. I re-edited the photo and changed the date on my photo stream. I'll put the photo back to its original place in a few days.
I feel really happy with the new version of this photo. Just by looking at the original edit and comparing it to the new edit I can see how much my retouching skills have developed in the last few weeks. For the last week I've been working on my latest photograph which is taking me forever to complete. I needed a break so I decided to try to do this photo again with my new retouching skills. And I feel proud of myself that it took only a few weeks for me to improved my photoshop skills. I just feel happy that my 52 week project is helping me to become a better artist. My goal is for all my photos to have the ability to tell a story.
I am not sure what this photo means to me. I've created a story in my head that this character is from the 80's and she trying to make it in the city. But, she is feeling lost in this new world but at the same time she is hopeful in her abilities to be successful. Its all in the eyes. HAHAHA that sounds really lame when I typed it out. But, I'll keep it on here for now.
