We found, in a gully, a cow skeleton. It was surrounded by sagebrush. The smell was really pretty, and this reminds me of that.

Prussian Class P8 (DRG Class 38.10) 4-6-0 No.38 2267 built in 1915; in DRG condition with extended chimney, large smoke deflectors and 2'2'T31,5 tender, arriving at Hagen Hbf with a service from Bochum Dalhausen along the Ruhrtalbahn, 2 June 2011. Designed by Robert Garbe, about 3,850 P8's - an early and very successful mixed traffic design - were built 1906-24.
Norwegian Armed Forces Aircraft Collection at Gardermoen on August 7, 2012. German 2cm Flak 38 (Flugabwehrkanone 38) mounted on a Sd.Ah. 51 (Sonder Anhanger 51) trailer. Note the prominent shell basket with mesh cover, and 20 round box magazines. I think this one is equipped with the Linealvisier 21 sighting system. The canon is beautifully restored and displayed with other Luftwaffe equippment in front of the Ju 52.

Huib (#stranger 38).
Huib was sitting on a bench at the market to eat a fried fish. He had been to the market when he did not really want to; it was too cold that day. But when you go anyway, he buys something tasty for himself. Today a fried fish. And then beautiful music through the headphones. Life is good for him.
This picture is # 38 in my 100 strangers project.

After the dictatorship took power in Chile, one of the first new clandestine sites to be chosen for the interrogation, torture and possible execution of detainees was an elegant nineteenth century mansion in the middle of Santiago’s CBD. Only metres from the capital’s principal thoroughfare and opposite a busy hotel, its address was Londres 38. Until 11 September, when the military seized it, Londres 38 was the headquarters of the Santiago branch of the Chilean Socialist Party. From mid-November it became the first of the Santiago post-stadium torture and extermination centres. How many detainees passed through Londres 38 is unknown, but it probably surpassed 1,000. Of these, 96 were known to have been killed, including 13 young women. The DINA called its new centre ‘Yucatán’. It closed in September 1974.

The flowers I found abandoned in the botanical garden a few weeks prior. Still fresh and pretty and today with bokeh in the back.
