Star trails from a camping trip in Mt. Hood National Forest.
The trees are illuminated so brightly partly because it was a full moon and also because, I think, of nearby light pollution.
Today's picture is of my growing belly. Right now, it looks like I had too much ice cream ... ok ... maybe I have, but still, I'll attribute it to the baby growing and forget all about the Olive Garden we had last night because I heard someone on TV mention it. I think I'd like my belly to finally 'pop out' so at least it looks like I'm pregnant and not just have had too much to eat. Until then though, I'll keep on blaming the baby for the belly and not all the snacks I pick up on the way home from work.
These are my exercise shoes that I hardly ever use. I even have the iPod Nano Nike+ thing for them!
This morning I took a 3-hour intense self-defense class with a few co-workers. I admit I had a few tears. But I feel pretty great about it overall and I learned a lot of useful stuff that I hope to never have to use.
I'm trying to figure out if I broke one of the bones in my big toe. During an attack scenario I think it got stepped on and I know for sure it bent weird.
Não dá vontade de sentar nesses bancos e passar horas e horas lendo, pensando na vida ou jogando conversa fora?
Both my original flight and my re-booked flight were cancelled today, which means I can't actually go on my trip until tomorrow. That also means another night at home, which is as good a reason as any to celebrate :) So, I decided to make dinner, get a nice bottle of wine, and a redbox for Will :)
FYI, the wine is Meiomi (which we discovered last week in the wine flight at our favorite restaurant), and the movie is Ted (which I've heard is hilarious). :D
364/365 - Baltray Beach near Drogheda, Ireland. Was out cheing out the shipwreck there. Wasn't really there at the right time, as it was high tide. But did find it for next time.

Farm to fork dinner!
Everything on this plate was grown at a local farm or in our backyard. There are pork spare ribs from our meat CSA and a combo of onions and kohlrabi from our veggie CSA, topped with chives from our back patio.
The ribs were seasoned with Tony Chachere's creole seasoning, brown sugar, and cayenne pepper. We added a small amount of canola oil to be sure they didn't stick to the grill and then grilled them low and slow for at least 30 min. For the kohlrabi and onions, we made little packets out of foil, so they could sit on the top rack of the grill. We added olive oil, butter, a bit of salt, pepper, and the Tony Chachere's creole seasoning. They were on the grill for about 20 minutes until tender.
SO DELICIOUS!!
Sweet backlit lavender on a sunny Seattle Afternoon. I tried to take some macro shots with my 50mm 1.4!! Loved the sun flare and bokeh :)
