290.365 - October 17, 2013 - I convinced my wife to be my subject tonight for a Brenizer panorama. I'm struggling lately for ideas that don't feel like they're just rinse-and-repeat. I know I can't do something totally unique every day because just getting a photo every day is a huge challenge that I have failed many times. I need to work on inspiration and motivation! I'm so close to the end...must...press....on!!

The fountains on Cary Green have lain empty and disused since 2016 - but were restored fo full working order during April 2025 as part of the improvements around the Harbourside area. At night the jets are illuminated by morphing colour lights.

I took that photo of Jose for his PR material and when i got to the workshop it sort of startled me to see it.
Out in my side yard today. Was shocked to see one. I haven't seen a fox squirrel around here for about 6 years or more. I was excited to see one. He's nice and healthy looking too.
Day 87 of 365.
For my first day back at work(I'm a chemist!), I thought it would be fun to make cupcakes and top them with the elements of the periodic table. I decided on mini-cakes and made a mixture of chocolate almond, and almond cakes. The transition elements were the most popular for some reason!
This is a bit long winded .....but stick with it.
I was born in 1961 !!! Here are some predictions that were made in the 60's about what we would be doing by 2011.
1. We would all be using flying cars
2. We would all have a life of leisure whilst robots did all our work for us.
3. We would be able to control the weather
4. We would have an olympic games on the moon and space tourism would be routine
5. We would all be having dinner consisting of different coloured pills.

The “Answer Machine,” as it was called in a 1964 publication, was a theorized tool for answering homework problems. Using a typewriter keyboard, the user would ask the machine a question and an answer would quickly appear on the machine’s television screen display. Furthermore, the machine could sing you tunes if need be, or even play movies about any topic the user might research. It is unclear from the writings about the machine how the experts thought that one machine could possibly store information about every single topic one might wish to research..??? mmmmm
..and a couple that were completely off.
