The 3rd generation Mustang was designed by Jack Telnack as a rear wheel drive Pony car. During its long production run there were two major facelifts, splitting the model years - 1979-82 Pre-facelift, 1983-86 1st Facelift and 1987-93 2nd Facelift.
Thethirs generation design arrived in 1979, based on Fords generic Fox platform a one size fits all platform shared with cars across the Ford-Lincoln and Mercury range. keeping development and construction costs down. The car was available as a Coupe, Convertible or Hatchback and came in two trim levels base model and the more luxurious Ghia model Engines were carried over from the Mustang II included the 88 hp (66 kW) 2.3 L Pinto inline-four, 109 hp (81 kW) 2.8 L Cologne V6 (made by Ford of Germany), and the 140 hp (104 kW) 302 cu in (4.9 L) V8; which was marketed as a 5.0 L with a 89bhp 3300cc S6 becoming available shortly after launch with the 2.8 litre being dropped in late 1979 A new 132 hp (98 kW) 2.3 L turbo four-cylinder, was also debuted offering simular performance to the V8 Following the second oil crisis in 1979, the 302 cu in (4.9 L) "5.0" engine was dropped in favor of a new 255 cu in (4.2 L) V8 due to its better fuel economy. The 255 was the only V8 offered in 1980 and 1981.
The Mustang was refreshed for 1983 with a more rounded nose and reshaped grill. New, wider horizontal taillights with dedicated amber turn signals replaced the vertical sectioned units. and reintroduced a Convertible
In August 1986, the Mustang received a second facelift of both its interior and exterior. The front end was restyled to look more like the SVO in line with the new Ford family look. The interior received an all new dash, center console and revised seat and door trim

A line of classic Ford Model A's stand outside the bank on Beamish Museum town street, creating a scene that would be typical of the 1930's.
Nearest the camera is a Ford Model-A 45-B Coupe of 1931, registered MXS 485. Next to that is a 1929 3300cc Ford Model-A Phaeton convertible, registered SV 4717. Finally, on the far right, is a 2200cc Ford Model-A Tudor Sedan of 1929 vintage, registered WW 9782.
The Ford Model-A was manufactured from 1927 until 1931 and represents Henry Ford's second great marketing success after the hugely popular Model-T range. By the end of production in 1931 almost five million Model-A's had been produced.

The Dunsmore Specials were the creation of the late Bill Hines (of Stretton-on-Dunsmore) who crafted each car from scratch to the customers requirements. It is believed around 13 to 15 were built, a number have gone overseas and around 8 remain in the UK.
As each car was built to the individuals requirements, no two are the same.
Not just a kit car most Dunsmore included specialist components such as Harford friction shock absorbers, and Blockley racing tyres to give them a period feel.

Marketed alongside its 1600cc sibling the new cars featured a new overhead camshaft engine, with 104bhp for the 2000 and 83bhp for the 1600 and a higher axle ratio. The suspension has live axle with trailing arms, Panhard rod and coil springs instead of the traditional leaf springs, and a double wishbone front suspension assembly,
Options include, alternator, servo front disc brakes, automatic transmission (Borg-Warner) to 1969) and heated rear window. Rebadged as 2000SL for 1970-72.
The facelift from autumn 1969 saw a new dashboard with simulated wood appliques, glove box (the original FDs did not feature this owing to US safety concerns over the glove box door springing open in the event of a crash), low level fuel warning light, the optional GM Strasburg auto transmission, energy absorbing steering column and a host of other minor changes. They were spotted externally by sill strips that deflected road filth off the lower body panels. (thanks Vauxnut)
Just been informed by contact Paul Clutterbuck that some were fitted with the GM 202 cu in (3300cc) engine, so this may be original and miquoted by the DVLA as 3500cc
*This car is registered as having a 3500cc engine, note the oil cooler and lower front bumper strakes.. Good looking car, that also sounds throaty,

The 911 was first introduced in 1964, it had a rear mounted 130hp 1991cc flat 6 cyl air cooled engine.
The 210hp 2687cc Carrera RS was introduced in 1973, better suspension and brakes, wider rear wheels and wings and ducktail rear spoiler.

In 1976 the 930 Turbo went into production with over 20,000 built before the 1989 replacement, the 964.
Initially engines were 260hp 3000cc, from 1978, 300hp 3300cc.

Introduced in May 1972 the 3.0CSL was a homologation special built to make the car eligible for racing in the European Touring Car Championship. The "L" in the designation meant leicht (light),
The lightness was achieved by using thinner steel to build the unit body, deleting the trim and soundproofing, using aluminium alloy doors, bonnets, and boot lids, and using Perspex side windows. The five hundred 3.0CSLs exported to the United Kingdom were not quite as light as the others, as the importer had insisted on retaining the soundproofing, electric windows, and stock E9 bumpers on these cars.
Initially using the same engine as the 3.0CS, the 3.0CSL was given a very small increase in displacement to 3,003 cc, by increasing the engine bore by one quarter of a millimetre. This was done in August 1972 to allow the CSL to be raced in the "over three litre" racing category, allowing for some increase in displacement in the racing cars.
The BMW 3.0CSL became one of the dominent cars in the ETC (European Touring Car Championship) and the German Motorsports Championship. In 1973 Jagermeister struck an agreement with Alpina to enter cars. The Jägermeister coupé was driven by a young Niki Lauda, Wins by Lauda and his co-driver Hans-Peter Joisten in the Jägermeister BMW in 1973 included the 24-hour race on the Nürburgring and third place in the Touring Cars Grand Prix. The Jägermeister BMW was completely destroyed in July 1973 when Hans-Peter Joisten suffered a fatal accident in this car in the Spa 24-hour race.
In thbe absence of the original car a replica was created constructed on the basis of an original CSL dating from 1973.constructed by “‘72STAGPOWER”. The racing version of the CSL, were prepared by Alpina (and by the trio of engineers Bovensiepen, Hack and Indra) with its trademark rear wing. In the 1973 season, the Alpina 3.0 CSL (like the BMW works cars) initially had a 3.3 litre six-cylinder engine delivering around 360 hp at 7800 rpm. Alpina subsequently increased the capacity to 3.6 litres and achieved 372 hp (at 8100 rpm).

With the advent of the Internet, many people are aware of the Mazda Roadpacer. The Roadpacer was a strange anomaly for both manufacturers, being based on a Holden Premier, but with a Mazda rotary engine.
Holden's garden-variety, upscale family machine, the Kingswood-based Holden HJ-model Premier, was never a good candidate for Mazda's Wankel Rotary Engine. The heavy-weight Holden was normally powered by six cylinder motors from 2850cc to 3300cc, while a 253ci (4.2 litre) and 308ci (5.0 litre) V8 were optional. The Mazda rotary was, in the Roadpacer, underpowered and lacking in torque. Australian road testers who managed to test the machine described it as, perhaps most kindly, as 'smooth'.
The HJ-model Premier was sent to Japan as a CKD kit and assembled by Mazda with quite a few Mazda parts including running gear and, perhaps even more famously, mental paisley interior trim.
As rare as it is, the Roadpacer is a known vehicle. More than one have come up for sale over the years and there are references to them on more than one Mazda reference website. The Roadpacer landed in Japan in about 1976 and was gone by the following year.
So where did THIS thing come from?
Pre-dating the Roadpacer by a couple of years, the Isuzu Statesman Deville by GMH has so far failed to prove it exists outside the pages of Isuzu's brochures. It has been mentioned in this brochure along with another that features the entire Isuzu range from 1973-1974. This brochure was also mentioned in the letters section of Unique Cars back in about 2005, ironically following an article they did on a Mazda Roadpacer!
There appear to be no references to the car in any Isuzu books or websites. Further to this and unlike the Mazda Roadpacer, there appears to be very little input from anyone except Holden on this car.
The Isuzu Statesman Deville by GMH pre-dated the Roadpacer by about 3 years and appears to be simply the HQ-model Statesman Deville by another name. The HQ was the first model of the second generation of the Holden Kingswood range, which began with the HQ, then moved through HJ, HX and HZ model updates until the sedan and wagon were killed off with the demise of the HZ in 1980. The long-wheelbase Statesman and the commercial range soldiered on, with significant upgrades, as the WB-model until early 1985.
Although coil sprung all 'round, they weren't particularly good at handling, as the head of Holden at the time was an American who insisted that all Holdens should ride like Cadillacs! Certainly the Pontiac and Cadillac-inspired Statesman would have to have ridden the same, so the ride, often described as 'wallowy' would have been at odds with Isuzu's sporty nature! All too late for the Isuzu Statesman, the handling was something that was not fixed until the final model of that generation, the HZ-model range, which included "Radial Tuned Suspension" fine tuned by ex-Opel engineer, Peter Hanenburger.
The HQ series went from 1971 to 1974 and saw many variations which included sedans and wagons (Belmont, Kingswood, Premier), coupes (Monaro), utilities and vans (Belmont, Kingswood), a cab-chassis (1-Tonner) and the long-wheelbase (shared with the wagon, van and ute) Statesman luxury car. It was sold in South Africa as the Chevrolet 350 and in the Middle East as the Chevrolet Caprice. It was one of Australia's best loved cars and cemented the Kingswood into Australian folklore as the quintessential Australian car, but I can bet you that out of the record 485,000-odd examples built by Holden, not many of them were Isuzu Statesman Devilles!
