About the photograph.
Why did I use the title Red Rolling for this photo? Well, I see this red racing car rolling forwards to the pre-start line, hence the title Red Rolling.
The driver is Wallace Menzies from Alloa, Scotland, in his red Gould GR59-M open-wheel, single-seat, formula car, bearing the number 1.
His car’s engine is a 3300cc Cosworth XD V8, and notice the Avon brand name on the tyres, as the majority, if not all, the cars taking part have tyres from Avon.
The two mechanics are seen here helping prepare the car for the pre-start, after this point, they must leave the car alone, when the car rolls forwards to the starting line.
The Gould GR59-M is designed, developed and built by Gould Racing, in 2016. Gould Racing a British company since 2003, for most hillclimbing motorsport drivers.
Menzies, according to Gould’s website, had been champion of 2019 and 2021.
About Shelsley Walsh.
Shelsley Walsh is a motorsports speed hill climb track in Worcestershire, and organised by the Midland Automobile Club (MAC).
It is one of the oldest motorsports event, having started in 1905, and held events every year, except for the two World Wars.
It is also a notably steep course by today’s hill climb standards, rising 328ft / 100m over its 1000 yards / 914 metres length.
The track and course do not belong to MAC, it is leased from the local landowner. The original lease ran for 99 years, and in 2005, a new lease was signed for the next 99 years.

Introduced in 1959 running through to 1970, over three generations the Falcon was a huge seller and came in many forms.
This car is a second generation model 1964-65 the new design was more squared of in an effort to aim at a younger market, although this was followed a few months later by the Mustang based heavily on the Falcon's unified frame design. For 1964 Ford added a Sprint package giving the Falcon the 260V8 engine, stiffer suspension and a louder exhaust and by late 1964 added the 289 V8 .
For 1965, changes were minimal, including a simpler grille and revised side trim on deluxe models. Production ended on June 26, 1965, for convertible Falcons.

The Ford Model A 1930 Phaeton. Built on 103.5-inches it was powered by a 3,286cc (201) L-Head straight four engine. The Phaeton was a 4-door open top car, but the hood included side screens to keep out the weather
In Europe some model A's were fitted with a 2033cc engine to reduce the effect of punitive fiscal horsepower taxation, but it was still classified as a 14.9HP.

Launched in 1974 and originally planned in order to comply with homologation regulations for a racing version. When the homologation rules changed, Porsche continued to develop the car anyway, deciding to make it a fully equipped variant of the 911 that would top the model range. Developed by Ernst Fuhrmann who adapted the turbo-technology originally developed for the 917/30 CAN-AM car to the 3.0 litre flat-six from the Carrera RS 3.0, creating what Porsche internally dubbed as 930. with an output of 256bhp. The car featured revised suspension, larger brakes and a stronger four speed gearbox.
A whale tail rear spoiler was installed to help vent more air to the engine and help create more downforce at the rear of the vehicle, and wider rear wheels with upgraded tires combined with flared wheel arches were added to increase grip.
In 1978 the engine was enlarged to 3.3 litre and a 325bhp output

Marketed alongside its 1600cc sibling the new cars featured a new overhead camshaft engine, with 104bhp for the 2000 and 83bhp for the 1600 and a higher axle ratio. The suspension has live axle with trailing arms, Panhard rod and coil springs instead of the traditional leaf springs, and a double wishbone front suspension assembly,
Options include, alternator, servo front disc brakes, automatic transmission (Borg-Warner) to 1969) and heated rear window. Rebadged as 2000SL for 1970-72.
The facelift from autumn 1969 saw a new dashboard with simulated wood appliques, glove box (the original FDs did not feature this owing to US safety concerns over the glove box door springing open in the event of a crash), low level fuel warning light, the optional GM Strasburg auto transmission, energy absorbing steering column and a host of other minor changes. They were spotted externally by sill strips that deflected road filth off the lower body panels. (thanks Vauxnut)

The first generation of Ford Mustang was introduced in 1964 running until 1973. Initially introduced as a Hardtop and a Convertible with a Fast back annnounced for the following year.
Several changes to the Mustang occurred at the start of the normal 1965 model year production, five months after its introduction. These cars are known as "late 65's," and were built after factory retooling in August 1964. The engine lineup was changed, with a 200 cu in (3.3 L) "T-code" engine that produced 120 hp (89 kW). Production of the "F-code" 260 cu in (4.3 L) engine ceased when the 1964 model year ended. It was replaced with a new 200 hp (150 kW) "C-code" 289 cu in (4.7 L) engine with a two-barrel carburetor as the base V8. An "A-code" 225 hp (168 kW) four-barrel carbureted version was next in line, followed by the unchanged "Hi-Po" "K-code" 271 hp (202 kW) 289. The DC electrical generator was replaced by a new AC alternator on all Fords (the quickest way to distinguish a 1964 from a 1965 is to see if the alternator light on the dash says "GEN" or "ALT"). The now-famous Mustang GT (Gran - Touring) was introduced as the "GT Equipment Package" and included a V8 engine (most often the 225 hp (168 kW) 289), grille-mounted fog lamps, rocker panel stripes, and disc brakes. A four-barrel carbureted engine was now available with any body style.
For 1967 the first generation Mustang was redesigned The major mechanical feature was to allow the installation of a big-block V8 engine. The overall size, interior and cargo space were increased. Exterior trim changes included concave taillights, side scoop (1967) and chrome (1968) side ornamentation, square rear-view mirrors, and usual yearly wheel and gas cap changes. The high-performance 289 option was placed behind the newer 320 hp (239 kW; 324 PS) 390 cu in (6.4 L) FE engine from the Ford Thunderbird, which was equipped with a four-barrel carburetor.

The Dunsmore Specials were the creation of the late Bill Hines (of Stretton-on-Dunsmore) who crafted each car from scratch to the customers requirements. It is believed around 13 to 15 were built, a number have gone overseas and around 8 remain in the UK.
As each car was built to the individuals requirements, no two are the same.
Not just a kit car most Dunsmore included specialist components such as Harrford friction shock absorbers, and Blockley racing tyres to give them a period feel.

The 930 Turbo was introduced in 1975 as Porsche fastest road legal car. Its original purpose was to gain FIA homologation for the 1976 racing season, it quickly became popular among car enthusiasts. Ernst Fuhrmann adapted the turbo-technology originally developed for the 917/30 CAN-AM car and applied it to the 3.0 litre flat-six used in Carrera RS 3.0, thus creating what Porsche internally dubbed as the 930. The car utilises a single KKK turbocharger, with revised suspension lay out, larger brakes, and stronger gearbox. A "whale tail" rear spoiler was installed to help vent more air to the engine and to create more downforce at the rear of the vehicle, and wider rear wheels with upgraded tyres combined with flared wheel arches were implemented in order to increase the car's width and grip, making it more stable.
Porsche made its first and most significant changes to the 930 for 1978 model year, enlarging the engine bore by 2 mm (0.08 in) to a total displacement of 3,299 cc and adding an air to air intercooler the rear 'whale tail' spoiler was re-profiled and raised slightly to make room for the intercooler and the spoiler was now infamously called the 'tea tray' spoiler, suspension was modified with new anti-roll bars, stiffer shock absorbers and larger diameter torsion bars.
This car is non standard and performance is upgraded by tuning company RUF

The Albion A16 was introduced in 1914, but production was soon halted after just 18 chassis had been built, due to the onset of the first World War. The chassis was a 1.5 ton powered by a 3.3 litre monoblocengine producing 20 hp with revs governed to 1,250rpm.Production did not restart until 1918, with no major innovations other than the extending of the chainless direct drive into a slightly higher weight range and retaining a gear type oil pump as on the 15 hp A14. Production reached 484 in 1919 and continueduntil December 1920. The early A16 had a brass radiator and 11 louvre bonnet. Later models of A16 had a fabricated design of painted aluminum radiator which was bolted together using a top tank, sides and base to enclose core. It had 9 bonnet louvres.

The 1930-31 models received a new enlarged radiator and hood.
Hot Rod
The Model A was the most popular car to be converted as a Hot Rod in the USA, due to second hand cars being both cheap and numerous with a ready supply of spare parts.

The second restyle of the first generation Stang was introduced in 1969, the bodies were lengthened by 3.8 inches with a small increase in width though the cars had the same wheelbase as before they were considerably heavier and appeared more bulky, with convex side panels. 1969 was the first model to use quad headlamps placed both inside and outside the grille opening. The fastback body version was named SportsRoof in Ford's literature The corralled grille pony was replaced with the pony and tribars logo, positioned off-centere to the driver's side (left).
The 1970 model year Mustangs were restyled to be less aggressive and therefore returned to single headlamps which were moved to the inside of the grille opening with 'fins' on the outside of the grille sides. The styling of the 1969 model were blamed for a drop in sales and this prompted the headlamp revisions and simplification of other exterior styling aspects for 1970.
