Descripcion: Foto tomada en 2015, durante la realización de un estudio para fortalecer la vigilancia de intoxicaciones por mercurio en el municipio de El Bagre, departamento de Antioquía. Se observan niños bañándose en las piscinas que se forman después de la remoción del suelo en las minas a cielo abierto (aluvión) donde extraen oro y emplean mercurio de forma indiscriminada, exponiéndose los niños a una intoxicación por mercurio.

The workers were fired from Del Monte after the Hurricane destroyed parts of the plantation. They were told that they and their families had to evacuate the area. They have nowhere to go so they stay supporting each other as a community. Many men have since been shot between the plantation and Morales, the next nearest town. These men were considered leaders of the community often traveling to Morales to meet lawyers who would not enter the site. This community lives in fear daily from armed workers who drive up and down the roads in pick up trucks.
