More on the driver's side

Brand new Rescue 2 arrived from Pierce Mfg. yesterday! Shop mechanics are busy outfitting the rig for service! Rescue 2 was purchased to alleviate the load on Rescue 1. With this in mind, Rescue 2 will be stationed at Station 2 where it will respond to the southern portion of Castle Beach. Along with US&R 2, Rescue 2 will also respond to a wide range of technical rescue calls including trench rescue, collapse rescue, confined space rescue, swift water rescue, entrapments, high angle rescue, urban search and rescue, and hazardous materials. Rescue 2 is a walk-in rescue apparatus, which allows for members to suit up for the proper response. Also, within the body is a command center where officers can direct the scene. Barring any setbacks, this apparatus will be placed into service within the next 2 weeks and will be ready to serve Castle Beach and the surrounding communities!

Builder's note:

I'm particularly proud of the design of this one, especially the cab since. I think this is the closest representation of the B column windows. Engineered with some SNOT, the windows fit well. Thanks for all your support and be on the lookout for the next rigs!

The Alfa Romeo Brera and the Alfa Romeo Spider (Type 939) are two sports cars manufactured by Alfa Romeo respectively between 2005-2010 and 2006-2010. The Brera is a 2+2 coupé, while the Spider is its roadster version. Both models were built by Pininfarina.

12,488 units of the Spider and 21,786 units of the Brera were built. Production of both models ended in late 2010, although remaining stock continued into 2011.

Production:

The Alfa Romeo Brera was introduced in production form at the 2005 Geneva Motor Show. It translated the original's exterior appearance on a much smaller scale, becoming a mid-size coupé on the GM/Fiat Premium platform (shared with the Alfa Romeo 159), and designed to replace the outgoing GTV. A convertible Spider version of the Brera was also announced, to be launched shortly after the coupe and to replace the existing GTV-based Spider.

In Europe, the Brera was initially available with two petrol engines, the 185 PS (136 kW; 182 hp) 2.2-litre JTS and 260 PS (190 kW; 260 hp) 3.2-litre V6; and a 210 PS (150 kW; 210 hp) 2.4-litre JTD turbodiesel. Cars with the diesel or 2.2 petrol were front-wheel drive, whilst the V6 came with a Torsen four-wheel drive system similar to the 159's Q4.

A single sailboat, awaiting her crew. She is "Rocinante", also the name of Don Quixote's horse. She lays at anchor, at sunset, with the western side of Poulsbo and Kitsap County behind her, and beyond that, the Olympic Mountains.

This is my photo for the week of January 18-25th, 2014. My Project 52, Out and About in Kitsap County.

This photograph was shot using my Sony SLT-A58, a Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. The camera was set to 'Sunset' from the Scene's menu. The pop up flash was active, but did not provide any real lighting. The photograph was then tweaked in Lightroom 5 to bring it back to what I considered be be pleasing levels.
