Seattle, WA

There's something about dark, heavily out-of-focus photos that conveys a strong sense of feeling lost. The weather is changing, and along with that people's habits and attitudes are changing as well.

I woke up to Bob Seger today, the song Hollywood Nights blaring through my AM/FM radio alarm clock. It hit pretty close to home this particular morning, I can only imagine it being a result of the recent change in season. I grew up in Michigan, near the area where Bob Seger spent the early years of his life in fact. Now, while I'm not in California I am on the west coast; I do have a girl who was born with a such a face that she tends to get her way and to an extent I probably did lose a bit of control.

And to top it off some days I do wake up feeling all alone, staring down at the lights of Seattle wondering if I could ever go home.

Day 247.

Head down.

The Boeing Model 247 was an early United States airliner, considered the first such aircraft to fully incorporate advances such as all-metal (anodized aluminum) semi-monocoque construction, a fully cantilevered wing and retractable landing gear. Other advanced features included control surface trim tabs, an autopilot and deicing boots for the wings and tailplane.

"Ordered off the drawing board", the 247 first flew on February 8, 1933, and entered service later that year. Subsequently, development in airliner design saw engines and airframes becoming larger, and four-engine designs emerged, but no significant changes to this basic formula appeared until cabin pressurization and high altitude flight were introduced in the early 1940s with the first pressurized airliner, the 307 Stratoliner.

Days 245 and 246 were taken with film, so I have to wait to finish off that roll and get them developed.

A very strange selfie, but I just feel like taking selfies is what I do and every once in a while I still really feel like taking a selfie.

I drove to a nearby town to take pictures of garbage cans last night. :) I remembered them being pretty garbage cans! They had peeling paint in pretty hues and glorious rust all over. Unfortunately, I only remembered six to eight garbage cans so when I arrived and found thirteen with the inner three being plain and ugly, my plans were screwed. I was going to set up flashes and do a night shot having the garbage cans mysteriously backlit. It was probably a good thing this all happened. The area was loaded with mosquitoes of the itchier variety. So here's my shot instead. :)
