I got a message on Facebook last night from a friend's daughter who plays in a duo with her other half - they needed a promo video to send off for festival applications and their own attempts hadn't worked out, so could I help out? I was delighted to, as they're great kids and very talented indeed. Batteries charged up, I started filming at 12.30 and by 4.30 the video and audio were edited and mixed and up on Youtube. Here's the final result - www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOeBCWPsDTg

Recorded on a Canon 7D with a 24-105L and a Rode mono boom mic, a Panasonic GX7 with a Super Takumar F1.4 M42 thread lens and an Olympus digital recorder wired through the PA to give a stereo feed which I mixed with the live sound. Mixed in Premiere Pro and Audition.

A quiet Sunday afternoon on the banking!

Here are my 24 favorite Christmas Albums. From top to bottom, from left to right, in random order:

1. Various artists : The Christmas Album I had this album also on LP. Andy Williams, Barbra Streisand, Doris Day and Tony Bennett are a.o. the stars on this album. The "Doris Day Christmas Album" belongs to this collection of favorite albums but somehow I couldn't find the disc.

2. New London Chorale : The Christmas Album I bought this album for just one song, that I heard in a record shop once: Auld Lang Syne as sung by Vicki Brown. I was absolutely bewitched when I heard this song!

3. New York City Gay Men's Chorus : Christmas comes anew

4. Harry Connick jr : When My Heart Finds Christmas

5. Julie Andrews : Greatest Christmas Songs

6. Various artists : The Christmas Compact Disc The more modern Christmas songs like John Lennon : Happy X-mas (also one of the best Christmas songs), Wham! : Last Christmas and Band Aid : Do They Know it's Christmas.

7. Bing Crosby : White Christmas The One Christmas Album everybody should have in his or her collection. "White Christmas" is and stays the best Christmas Song!

8. Mariah Carey : Merry Christmas Her song "All I want for Christmas is You" from this album was voted best Christmas Song this year by the listeners of a Dutch Radio station.

9. Carpenters : Christmas Portrait Karen Carpenter had one of the best voices in the pop business.

10. Ella Fitzgerald : Wishin' you a Swingin' Christmas Another beautiful voice with a Jazzy Christmas album.

11. John Denver and the Muppets : A Christmas Together

12. Hanson : Snowed In

13. John Denver : Rocky Mountain Christmas My second favorite Christmas Album after Bing Crosby's)

14. The Osmond Family Christmas Album I used to be a fan long ago, but I still like this album. Just a shame that they didn't put the whole double LP on this Compact Disc.

15. Johnny Mathis : Merry Christmas from 1958. Best song: Sleigh Ride. It's so cheerful.

16. The McCarrigle Christmas Hour featuring Rufus Wainwright

17. Spike Jones : Let's sing a song of Christmas Nice song: All I want for Christmas (is my two front teeth)

18. Frank Sinatra : Christmas Dreaming

19. Kirov Orchestra with conductor Valery Gergiev : The Nutcracker The Ballet traditionally performed at Christmas with music by Tchaikovski.

20. Andy Williams: Christmas with Andy Williams

21. Rosie O'Donnel & Guests : A Rosie Christmas

22. Various Artists : White Christmas A cheap CD I bought for all the old stars like Nat King Cole (his version of The Christmas Song (Chesnust roasting..) is one of the best.

23. Various Artists : A Very Special Christmas

24. Barbra Streisand : A Christmas Album Best song: her super fast version of Jingle Bells.

I think it's time. 50mm f/1.4. (Ho organizzato una cordata con tutto il parentame per aiutarmi a prenderlo. :) )

The Mi-24 HIND VP helicopter gunship sports twin 23mm guns in the nose rather than the single gun of the HIND D & E.

The scene looks like Tom Cruise in one of the MI movies. But in this case Smurfette tries to take the pearls. Hopefully she can fetch any without trigger the alarm device ...

Maumee and Western 16 crosses US24/6 at the east side of Napoleon. Movement east of Napoleon is quite rare as the exempt status of the crossing can attest. On this cold January Saturday the MAW is pulling cars out of storage on the portion of it's track between Napoleon and Liberty Center, Ohio.

I dont know if this Syrphidae larva is really eating a dead Lasioglossum male or if it is an optical illusion.

This picture is #24 in my 100 strangers project. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at the 100 Strangers Flickr Group page

I saw Michael crossing a street in Tampa and immediately approached him. I explained the 100 Strangers group and he said "fine", and struck this pose. I could not have asked for more. Michael is currently homeless and stays in a Salvation Army shelter for $8/night. But where do you get $8 when you are unemployed?

Thank you Micheal, for allowing me to photograph you for this group. Good luck, my friend.

Challenge #24

Take a photograph that depicts the binding and bonding of people local to you.

With batterygrip and canon 24-70mm L lens. The standard 18-55 lens look ridicoulus compared to this one.

Another idea I've seen elsewhere. Used a mirror that's been lying around around the house. I flipped the final image cause I think it looks more interesting this way.

The snow is still horrendous, I keep forgetting it's March.
