Peter and I were walking past the shop in this picture when I saw Sarah inside cleaning a window. Earlier we'd been discussing the fact that we'd never gone so far as to drag someone out right out of a shop to photograph like some of our antipodean cousins tend to do. I loved Sarah's style and through the shop window would make an interesting, if busy, background. So I knocked on the door and gave her the pitch.
Now I know it looks like I've gone diptych mad but the fact is that while I'm really enjoying getting more of the person into the pictures, I still love the close face shots so I'm trying to get the best of both worlds. In this case I think it works, I hope you agree.

Took this while out for a run tonight. I've been really interested in the flood light that lights the car park in the park, and just wanted to try something with it. Will try something else another day, too.

I visited Oregon this past week for a family wedding and family vacation. It was absolutely gorgeous there when the weather was clear. I would have uploaded a picture of the amazing coastline we stayed on, but this is much better in the composition area. There were more flowers and green things than I've ever seen, and the air smelled so clean and fresh. If only I could tolerate constant gray skies and miserable winters I might move there some day!
I won't be uploading the next 2 or 3 weeks.
I'll be at camp and then I finally get to be with my love.
Finally. <3

Thank god this project has no deadline! I almost forgot about it entirely. Then I rediscovered and remembered that it was great fun. So I took my camera with me to Bryant Park and discovered Steven.
Steve was incredibly dapper on the steps of the library, and being photographed by a friend. Turns out, he’s a fashion blogger. Well, he’s an art student from Nigeria who has an eye for details and impeccable style. The photos he’ll have up on his blog will probably be better than mine, but he was a refreshing and fitting subject in front of the elegant library otherwise frequented by tourists and unremarkably dressed academics. Follow him on tumblr here and find more of his style on his blog!

Week 21.....thunder and lightning
A quick moving thunderstorm moved through this evening. Sun to the east and storm to the west made for a dramatic sky.
52 weeks of the same thing. My project to document a lonely Oak Tree
We now can see the full length of the over 6 km Leitisvatn/Sørvágsvatn Lake. The headlands on either side of the Lake drop precipitiously from heights of 252 and 376 m. into the North Atlantic. From this perspective, we also have a head-on view of the Bøsdalafossur waterfall, which is the Lake's outlet into the ocean. Distant north and east of the Lake provide vistas of rugged parts of the island of Streymoy.
