I love Fridays - F doesn't finish preschool until 2pm (as opposed to 12.30) - that extra 90 minutes makes all the difference and this morning my friend Nicola and I went to Birmingham for a spot of shopping, a coffee & back again - bliss. We spent most of our time in Selfridges, going to all the beauty counters & getting samples. I am sweating Jo Malone! This was snapped on our way to menswear - considering I didn't look at what I was doing I am impressed it's in focus & not blurred!

Amtrak Northeast Regional train 125 heading south on track 2 at Jones Crossing, Virginia on the former RF&P on June 21, 2021. Note the "hybrid" signals, with old/traditional hardware on top, and newer "Darth Vader" equipment for the lower aspect. Re the upper signal heads, even black paint will bleach substantially, if left long enough.
Over the years 2001-2019 I had driven literally thousands of miles with 43299 on ECML services. Over the last decade mostly on the Edinburgh- Aberdeen/ Inverness routes.
Its good to see it has found employment elsewhere since 2019, albeit on a temporary basis from what I've been told.

I think the day I turned 24 my eye sight started to go. I can remember driving down Highland Blvd in Hollywood and thinking to myself "dang those signs are small and blurry, and crooked, and...."...Nope just me finally feeling the hands of time! eeeek. But lucky me , my friend Aaron works for Spy and was able to get me these nerdy cool spectacles!
Hindlow 21-6-01 37698 loaded 6 polybulks up earlier and has just tripped 4CSAs from Hindlow into the siding for Dowlow and joined both sets of wagons.She now reverses to the buildings in the background possibly to use a weighbridge or just to let 66093 out first on its loaded MEAs
I'm getting into a dangerous habit of not posting for 4/5 days... Not good. Anyway, I'm pretty happy with this image, and I'm totally digging the effect autumn has on bracken.
I decided to travel somewhere new today, and because I don't have a car I've been a bit limited with the locations I can go and take photos in. But I'm definitely venturing back to this place soon. It's funny that I live in an area full of forests, fields, moors and dramatic coastlines yet I've only really stuck to the samish-looking locations so far. Time for a change me thinks.
