One of the biggest snowstorms in Chicago history, a snow gauge measured over 19 inches of a snow a block from where these photos were taken. This was the most snow recorded anywhere in the Chicago area. The large accumulation was due to system snow and heavy lake effect. We were located approximately 2 miles from Lake Michigan.

Although I was very upset with myself with not having taken a picture throughout the day, I really did like how this turned out. I started setting up my tripod and camera around 11:50 and by the time I got the shot I wanted it was a little after midnight.
