Thailand | Eid al-Fitr Family Gathering and Women’s Roles in Narathiwat (2026)
A family gathers at home in Narathiwat province to prepare and share the Eid al-Fitr feast on 21 March 2026, marking the end of Ramadan with joy, dignity and togetherness. At the heart of this moment are women, whose labour, care and leadership make the celebration possible. Through preparing food, organizing the household and sustaining traditions, they hold families and communities together, often without recognition. This scene reflects not only the warmth of Eid, but also the essential yet undervalued contributions of women to social cohesion, resilience and cultural continuity in Thailand’s Deep South.
